THE Philadelphia Eagles cruised to their second Super Bowl and thwarted the Kansas City Chiefs' three-peat bid last night.
Jalen Hurts and his men in green were magnificent, with touchdowns from DeVonta Smith, AJ Brown as well as the defensive stars Zach Baun and Cooper DeJean.
But the Kansas City Chiefs will be kicking themselves, after missing the chance of an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat - and their usually magnificent offense took too long to get going.
Taylor Swift made a low-key appearance in the private boxes and her beau Travis Kelce left the field with a face like thunder following a difficult evening in New Orleans, in which she was booed by the Eagles faithful.
RESULT: Kansas City Chiefs 22-40 Philadelphia Eagles

Pre-match reading
A queue of pre-match explainers coming your way to keep you up to date with all things Super Bowl before the Big Game.
First, about the trophy every wants but why is it named after Vince Lombardi and why?
What happened two years ago?
What a match-up it was. The Kansas City Chiefs started their three-peat attempt in a red hot Arizona thriller against the Eagles.
For the first time there were two brothers facing each other in the Super Bowl on opposite teams - with Travis and Jason Kelce splitting loyalties of their adorable mom, Donna.
There were phenomenal performances from both quarterbacks in Phoenix.
Jalen Hurts rushed for 70 yards and THREE touchdowns, with one passing TD to his name.
He did, however, fumble the ball which was picked up by Nick Bolton for a touchdown in the first half - it was to be his only real error of the game.
The Eagles went in 24-14 leaders at the half, but Patrick Mahomes had other ideas.
Isiah Pacheco punched in a touchdown in the third quarter, before Kadarius Toney did the same.
Toney’s heroics counted again as he charged down the field following a punt return, giving Mahomes the chance to throw to Skyy Moore for another touchdown.
The Eagles were 35-27 down with just under six minutes to go before a huge catch from DaVonta Smith got them to the one yard line and the ‘tush push’ did the job, then a two-point conversion tied the game at 35-35.
But Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes.
A stunning scramble with 2:40 on the clock cut through the Eagles like a hot knife through butter.
But controversy ensued when Eagles cornerback James Bradberry was flagged for apparently holding JuJu Smith-Schuster. It was a very harsh call with 1:48 left and replays showed little, if any, contact from the man in green.
It set the platform to give Harrison Butker a straightforward kick for three points, with the Eagles having just eight seconds to find an answer of any kind. A huge ask.
Jalen Hurts had one chance to attempt a Hail Mary from 70+ yards, but it was well short and the Chiefs sealed it.
The Chiefs regained the trophy they lifted two years before and Andy Reid's team was on the road to becoming the dynasty.

Equally, there’s a lot of red in the stadium, the Chiefs fans have shown up and might not be outnumbered by Philly green after all.
"Around town all I’ve seen the last few days is Eagles supporters but maybe Chiefs Kingdom were just saving themselves for gameday.
"They’ve been here before and know what they’re doing," says Sunni.
How about those quarterbacks?
The two Super Bowl quarterbacks are two of the most recognised in the game and there's a reason.
Patrick Mahomes has spearheaded the Chiefs current dynasty and his opposition number, Jalen Hurts, remains a productive leader in a team geared on its running game than passing.
Brett Favre makes his Super Bowl prediction
Green Bay Packers legend and Super Bowl XXXI-winning quarterback Brett Favre thinks Patrick Mahomes is going to fire the Chiefs to the three-peat tonight.
"I’m not a betting man, but if I were I’d be putting my money on the Chiefs.
"I’m not saying that because I want them to win or don’t want them to win, I’m just saying they find a way to win.
"I’ve had people saying ‘yeah they won 15 games in the last second’ — but they WON 15 games in the last second.
"Now I think it just so happens that the best team that is built to beat the Chiefs is representing the NFC, the Eagles.
"They run the ball exceptionally well with Saquon Barkley, they’re going to need that to keep the Chiefs offense off the field.
"Good teams find a way to win. The Eagles can beat them, but you could say that two years ago as well.
"Until someone knocks them off the pedestal I’m going to go with the Chiefs."
Super Bowl gates are OPEN
An opening update from our correspondent on the ground, Sunni Upal:
"The gates are open at the Superdome and fans are starting to make their way in.
"Security is on another level from previous Super Bowls. You can’t get within a mile of the stadium in a car and Secret Service are searching people after clearing airport style security."
Game day!
