THE Welsh Open will take place this week, with 64 players competing for a huge jackpot!
Judd Trump is a notable absentee from the event, while four-time winner Ronnie O'Sullivan and current world champion Kyren Wilson are set to appear.
Defending champion Gary Wilson comes into the tournament as number one seed, having beaten Martin O'Donnell in the 2024 final to win the third ranking title of his career.
The Welsh Open is the penultimate chance snooker's elite will have to qualify for the World Grand Prix - and is the final Home Nations Series event of the season.
There is a total of £550,400 to be split between the competitors in Wales.
The winner will earn £100,000, while the highest break will earn £5,000.

The Welsh Open 2025 is set to take place over the course of a week, starting on Monday, February 10 and ending on Sunday, February 15.
Qualifying for the event took place between Tuesday, February 4 and Thursday, February 6 in Barnsley.
The last 64, last 32 and last 16 rounds will be played in a best-of-seven-frames format.
The quarter-final will become a best of nine frames, the semi-final will be best of 11 frames, and the final will be best of 17 frames.
