Mikel Arteta's side went into the contest desperate to win, having been wound up by Erling Haaland's "stay humble" comment towards the Spaniard after September's 2-2 draw.

Following the final whistle, Arsenal players made their way back down the tunnel in celebratory mood.

Academy graduate Ethan Nwaneri hugged the social media team's camera operator.

While plenty of others hugged each other in glee.
