Transfer news LIVE – Deadline Day latest: Man Utd DESPERATE to strengthen, Arsenal exit BLOCKED, Rashford to Villa DONE

DEADLINE DAY is HERE as the January transfer window rapidly heads towards a frantic finale TONIGHT!

Late on Sunday night, Marcus Rashford completed his loan to Aston Villa until the end of the season.

The Manchester United forward, 27, agreed the temporary switch after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim - but Villa will have the option to BUY the Red Devils academy graduate come the end of the season.

Meanwhile, United are eyeing up a late swoop for Leon Bailey from Villa to replace Rashford and Tottenham have also entered the race, according to reports.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have been handed a boost in their hopes for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel.

  • Spurs pushing for another defender

    Tottenham are reportedly trying to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi.

    Fabrizio Romano claims that Spurs are trying to sign two defenders before deadline.

    They've bought in Kevin Danso, and are chasing Disasi who is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

  • Breaking: Rashford to Villa complete

    Marcus Rashford has completed his loan to Aston Villa until the end of the season.

    The Manchester United forward, 27, agreed the temporary switch after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.

    But Villa will have the option to BUY the Red Devils academy graduate come the end of the season.

    It's understood they will have to shell out a cool £40million should they wish to permanently acquire his services.

    Villa's deal to bring Rashford to the Midlands has seen them take on a major financial outlay.

    The Villans are understood to be paying the majority of Rashford's whopping £325,000-a-week wages - which he's unlikely to get should he permanently move to Villa Park in the summer.

  • Brighton 'close' to deal

    Brighton are close to signing Nurnberg striker Stefanos Tzimas, according to Football Insider.

    The teenager has been lethal this season - scoring 10 goals in 17 appearances.

    The Seagulls will reportedly pay £20million for his services.

    He is currently on loan at Nurnberg from PAOK.

  • Tel struggle

    Man Utd are struggling to get the Mathys Tel move over the line.

    Bayern Munich want a permanent deal or an obligation to buy clause, say The Independent.

    The Red Devils just want a loan deal.

    Tel has said he only wants United. The ball is in their court.

  • When does the transfer window close?

    Tomorrow's the day!

    The winter transfer window opened on January 1, 2025, and in the Premier League runs until 11pm GMT on Monday, February 3, 2025.

    LaLiga follows the same time scale, however, the Bundesliga shuts at 5pm and Serie A at 7pm.

  • Fergie medical

    Evan Ferguson has reportedly completed his West Ham medical.

    So say Sky Sports, who also report his loan deal will be finalised tomorrow.

    The Hammers needed a centre forward, and they've got one.

  • Danso reaction

    Ange Postecoglou has reacted to Spurs signing Kevin Danso.

    “Brilliant [to get him], I think Kevin will be a great fit for us,” Postecoglou told Sky Sports.

    “We’re a little bit short at the back, have been for a while and he’s just really experienced, a good one-on-one defender.

    “I’ve said before that getting new players in gives us energy and will give the group energy. I’m looking forward to him being part of the group.”

  • Casadei leaves the Blues

    Cesare Casadei has left Chelsea and returned to Italy.

    The 22-year-old midfielder has joined Torino in a £12.5million deal.

    The move includes a 25 per cent sell on clause.

    Joao Felix is still a transfer target for Aston Villa.

    Unai Emery's side are already close to securing deals for Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio.

    However, there's a catch, says Sky Sports Germany.

    The Red Devils want a loan move while his club Bayern Munich want a permanent transfer.

    Chelsea are confident of striking a deal for Man City youngster Nico O'Reilly.

    The Cityzens are reluctant to lose the England U20 midfielder.

    Wolves star Matheus Cunha has signed a new contract at Molineux.

    The new deal ties Cunha with Wolverhampton giants until 2029.

  • Marcus Rashford medical

    Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is set to undergo a medical at Aston Villa today ahead of a huge loan move.

    Villa will reportedly cover 70 per cent of Rashford's salary until the end of the season.

    The Villans will have the option to make the loan a permanent transfer for a fee of £40million.

    There will also be a potential three-and-a-half-year deal on the table for the England international.

  • Man Utd confirm Dorgu

    Manchester United confirmed Patrick Dorgu's arrival from Lecce with the following statement:

    Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Patrick Dorgu has joined the club, subject to visa and registration.

    The Denmark international has signed a contract until June 2030, with the option of an additional year.

    Dorgu, 20, has played 57 games for Lecce, contributing 5 goals already.

    The versatile defender has enjoyed an excellent season so far having won the second-most ground duels in Serie A and attempted the fourth most take-ons of any defender in the league.

    He also scored with his first touch on his international debut in September.

  • Newcastle departure imminent

    Newcastle have reportedly agreed to sell Lloyd Kelly to Italian giants Juventus.

    That's according to The Telegraph, who claim the Magpies will pocket £20million for the defender.

  • Amorim given transfer advice

    Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has told Ruben Amorim the areas of the squad he needs to desperately strengthen.

    The Dutchman told : “Manchester United need consistent performances.

    "This year getting back into the Champions League is probably not going to happen - the top four is too far away with too many teams in front. 

    “With a good pre-season and one or two quality signings up front and maybe in midfield, United should be fine to challenge for those positions again.

    “In terms of signings, nowadays they have good people on board, technical people.

    "I'm sure they are qualified to get the right people in the door.”

    Tottenham are said to be on the hunt for another defender, in addition to new boy Kevin Danso.

    That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who wrote on X: "Tottenham are now pushing to agree on Axel Disasi deal with Chelsea as negotiations are ongoing today.

    ";As reported two days ago, Spurs want two centre backs (Danso first) after Dragusin’s serious injury."

    Jhon Duran insists his move to Al-Nassr wasn't motivated by the whopping increase in wages he's received with the Saudi Pro League club.

    He told Al-Nassr TV: "As for the people saying I'm motivated by money, I'd like to say to them now that they know nothing about my life. 

    "Money doesn't motivate me. I'm just a youngster and I still hang out with my people. I made this decision because I think it's the best one and I'll make sure it is.

    Chelsea have sold Cesare Casadei to Torino.

    The midfielder has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Serie A outfit, who have splashed out £12.5million to acquire his services.

    Patrick Dorgu has spoken of his delight at sealing a move to Manchester United.

  • Spurs sign Danso

    Tottenham have completed the signing of Kevin Danso from Lens.

    The defender has joined the north Londoners on loan until the remainder of the season.

    A snippet of a club statement read: "We are delighted to announce the signing of Kevin Danso on loan from Ligue 1 side RC Lens, subject to international clearance and work permit.

    "The Austria international defender will join the Club on loan until the end of the season, with an obligation to make the deal permanent in the summer.

    "He will wear the number four shirt."

  • Arteta's warning to Gunners fans

    Mikel Arteta has warned Arsenal fans he may NOT be able to sign a new striker before the transfer window closes on Monday.

    The Spaniard said: "We are trying everything that we can, but I don't want to give any reassurance or not.

    "It doesn't depend only on us.

    “We have the intention, the purpose and the ambition to try to help the team and support the squad to be better and to finish the season really, really strong.

    "We are actively trying to do that.

    “I'm very confident with the work that the club is doing, and exploring every single opportunity that we believe can have an impact on the team.

    “If that's the certainly the case and we can agree on something, we will.
