Ruben Amorim's replacing of Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout seemingly gave the defender a glimmer of hope of salvaging his Red Devils career.
But according to reports, the left-back is set to leave the Theatre of Dreams - despite Amorim's struggle to fill the position.
Dutch journalist reported: "Tyrell Malacia is leaving Manchester United.
"Sources close to the player have confirmed this.

"The left-back is close to an agreement with a new club and will be loaned to a top European competition.
"Ruben Amorim has given approval for the loan."
News of Malacia's seemingly imminent departure comes just days after Amorim revealed he wants to keep his current crop of players intact.
The Portuguese gaffer said: "I want to keep my players, I'm focused on these players.

"I don't know what is going to happen in this window, we'll see.
"But they are our players, so we have control on that.
