BBC renews Triple Crown deal
The BBC is to remain as the UK broadcast home of snooker's top three tournaments until at least 2032, an indication perhaps that the showpiece World Championship is not for moving.
A five-year deal has been agreed which means snooker will remain free-to-air until 2032.
Alex Kay-Jelski, Director of BBC Sport, said: “Snooker has been a cornerstone of BBC Sport programming since 1969, and extending our partnership with World Snooker until 2032 is fantastic news for the audience.
“It ensures the drama, intensity and excitement of the Triple Crown events remains free-to-air and we look forward to many more years of iconic sporting moments.”
Next up in the Championship League
World number one Judd Trump is back in action in Leicester tomorrow.
First up for him is Matthew Selt, who recently stormed out of his match with Neil Robertson.
Trump also faces Joe O'Connor while Robertson, Tom Ford, Stuart Bingham, and Jak Jones play too.
Championship League returns
Neil Robertson was in action this evening and was on the receiving end of a drubbing by Joe O'Connor.
The match ended 3-0 with O'Connor scoring a century and coming close with a 97-break.
Elsewhere Judd Trump beat Jak Jones 3-1.
Gharahgozlou takes Q-school victory
Ali Gharahgozlou defeated Ismail Türker 4-2 in the final of the third WPBSA Q Tour Middle East event at the UAE Snooker Academy in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Iran’s Gharahgozlou has now won back-to-back Q Tour titles, following his victory in Dubai last July, and secures his place in the Q Tour Global Play-Offs alongside event one winner Habib Subah Humood from Bahrain.
A trio of two-year World Snooker Tour (WST) tour cards will be on offer at the event which takes place on 11-13 March in Turkey.
Murphy makes admission after win
Shaun Murphy admitted he thought his days of winning majors were over after he landed his second Masters title.
He told the BBC: "I can’t believe it – I’m in shock. If I’m totally honest I thought these days were gone.
"When I lost to Mark Selby in 2021 [in the world final] at the Crucible, I thought my days in the business end of these events had gone.
"But everyone knows I’ve teamed up with Peter Ebdon and he’s helped me rediscover that self-belief, he’s helped remind me I used to be quite good at this. There’s still a bit of life in the old dog yet.
"I must pay tribute to Kyren – he is a great world champion. He really took it to me and there was a stage a few frames ago when it was panic stations."
Murphy feeling revitalised after win
Shaun Murphy revealed he feels revitalised after his Masters win and is now aiming to win the main prize.
He said: "Well, it just completely reignites it. It changes the perspective for me. As I say, I am not trying to use it as a line. I genuinely thought my days of winning these tournaments were gone.
"And I've managed to prove that wrong to myself more than anyone else. So, I will go to The Crucible knowing that I can do it. And that's something I haven't felt for a long time."
Murphy and White talk Traitors
Masters champion Shaun Murphy exposed Jimmy White as a ‘traitor’ with a behind-the-scenes version of the hit BBC show The Traitors supposedly being staged at Ally Pally.
A mention of Murphy's tutor Peter Ebdon – whom snooker icon White then admitted he had also signed up to work with – that saw Murphy disclose the ‘in-house’ game of The Traitors that was supposedly being played among those working on the Eurosport panel, and the 62-year-old’s treacherous ways.
“Before the partnership with Peter Ebdon, which is only three tournaments old – I totally lost my self-belief,” Murphy admitted to Eurosport. “Despite the fact that I might have given off the impression that I was the confident person everybody knows.
“I thought the days of potentially winning tournaments like this - not just your average ranking event, events like this that are different, they're in a league of their own – I did think those days were gone. It was working with Peter that helped me remember that I can do this.”
After Murphy’s admission, White swiftly issued a challenge: “You know you're in trouble, don’t you? I signed up with Peter a month ago!”
Murphy hit back: “Well, there you are. I’ve also heard there’s been an in-house game of Traitors, Jimmy. I’ve also heard you got outed – traitor!”
Murphy emulates iconic Messi photo
Shaun Murphy took a page out of Lionel Messi's book as he slept with his Masters trophy.
He said a pic of himself in bed with his prize alongside a caption which read: "Thank you so much for your kinds words and support!
"It's going to take a while for this one to sink in, but for now, me and my trophy are going to bed."
Selt ends match early
Matt Selt seemed to ignore Neil Robertson after losing to the Thunder From Down Under in the Championship League.
Just a month after the world No. 33 told a referee to “shut up”, Selt shook hands with the official after his 3-2 loss but walked straight past Robertson.
The match had technically not finished when Selt grabbed something out of his pocket and leapt out of his chair. Robertson led the deciding frame but it was clear that his opponent felt enough was enough.
Selt walked towards the referee and shook his hand before grabbing the case for his cue from underneath the snooker table. Robertson looked on slightly bemused and was seen sharing a brief chat with the referee.
There was notably no handshake between the two players, with Selt not engaging with his opponent and focusing on putting away his cue. Robertson walked off screen.
Judd Trump eyes lavish purchase
Snooker sensation Judd Trump is looking to splash his hard-earned cash on a lavish buy as he edges closer to raking in £9million in prize money.
Trump spoke to Eurosport about his next big spend and joked: "Nah, I think I want a yacht next! I think I want a yacht."
Stephen Hendry flips script on snooker star
Not so long ago, he was called out for being too nice.
But now, Stephen Hendry has noticed a nasty side in one of his former snooker rivals.
The Masters has been taking place this week and seven-time world champion Hendry was on duty as a pundit for the BBC during the competition.
Tonight saw Shaun Murphy face off against world champion Kyren Wilson for the coveted Triple Crown title.
And it was world no. 7 Murphy who triumphed, winning 10-7 at the Ally Pally.
Hendry previously called Murphy out for applauding his opponent during a China Open match last year.
What's to come
When all the excitement of a huge comp like the Masters comes to a close it's understandable that fans would be chomping at the bit for some more action.
Well here's a quick look at some of the bigger events on the horizon.

Ronnie hails Trump's 'shot of the season'
Ronnie O'Sullivan hailed a stunning pot by Judd Trump at the Masters as "shot of the season".
The world No1 made the semi-final at Alexandra Palace before losing to eventual runner-up Kyren Wilson.
In the quarter-final, the 2019 world champion came from 3-1 down to beat Ding Junhui 6-3.
The sensational comeback saw Trump fire in several incredible pots, with one long red at 4-3 up catching O'Sullivan's eye.
Ronnie, who was in the studio with Eurosport after pulling out on medical grounds, said: "I think the performance from Judd Trump against Ding Junhui from 3-1 down, some of the pots that he did were phenomenal, really.
"He just got stronger and stronger. He overpowered Ding, who's not playing bad and has won a tournament this season. But look at this red. I mean, this was phenomenal.
"To be hitting down on it, stun, run through, that's an unbelievable shot. That's shot of the season."
EXCL: More from Murphy
Shaun Murphy opened up to SunSport about just how special it was to win the Masters again.
He said: "When I took up snooker as an eight-year-old boy, I dreamt of moments like this and I've been really lucky with the game. This will be a day and week that I'll look back on for the rest of my life.
"Not to only win the event, but to beat the world champion in the final and take the maximum in one of these big events. The high break is something I've been trying to do for all of my career and I've ticked a few boxes this week.
"The crowd are a bit more vociferous here. They're a bit more vocal than over crowds. The Crucible is almost church-like in comparison.
"It's just an amazing arena and the crowd have been sensational in all the matches. You need that buzz sometimes. They were my 12th man this week."
EXCL: Murphy reveals how he'll spend winnings
Shaun Murphy has revealed how he'll spend his £365,000 prize money - the biggest pay packet of his career.
Murphy told SunSport: "Well it's my other half's birthday today.
"So she's had to sacrifice her birthday and put that on standby. We are going out tomorrow.
"I can't tell you what we're doing because it's a surprise, even she doesn't know yet, but tomorrow will be a good day."
Match stats
Here's a look at the match stats from last night's final.
Shaun Murphy
- Total points scored: 1019
- 50+ breaks: 8
- Highest break: 134
- Average points per frame: 59.94
Kyren Wilson
- Total points scored: 745

Wilson's reaction
Kyren Wilson reacted to his defeat graciously last night, explaining he just gave himself too much to do after opening the door for Shaun Murphy.
He said: "I gave Shaun too much of a head start. Perhaps there was a bit of fatigue after a late finish last night.
"Shaun used his experience. I'm proud that I managed to dig in deep. I still fancied it at 6-2 and 8-4. If the long red had gone in at 8-7 the balls were mine to clear up.
"I'm not a player who is going to play dolly shots, I went all-out and got aggressive.
"My game is in fantastic shape, being World Champion has inspired me and I'd like to think there are many more trophies to come. I'll be in Berlin next trying to win that one."
Murphy "looks angrier"
Stephen Hendry has praised Shaun Murphy for "looking angrier" in a bid to improving his snooker after claims he was "too nice" in the past.
Shaun said at the UK Championships that he was too nice. He certainly looks an angrier snooker player out there, a more determined snooker player.
Shaun was guilty in the past, I thought, of posing a little bit.
He'd be looking about smiling, I always thought he needed a bit of nastiness.
He'd still win matches, don't get me wrong, but there's definitely been a change. He should be focusing on the win and nothing else.
