Who is Jeff Horn?

Jeff Horn is an Australian boxer who competes in the welterweight division.

Nicknamed 'The Hornet,' the 29-year-old was born in Brisbane, Queensland on February 4 1988.

He is undefeated in 18 fights, where he hails a record of 17 wins and one draw.

11 of his fights have been won by knockout, and he hasn't gone the full distance in three of his last four fights.

What is Jeff Horn's background?

Horn is a relative newcomer to the sport having taken up boxing when he was 21.

He won the Australian title as an amateur in 2009, 2011 and 2012, and competed in the 2011 World Championships where he lost to the eventual winner Everton Lopes in the second round.

In 2012 he lost in the quarter-finals in the light welterweight division at the London Olympics after he won his first Oceania title.

A year later he made his professional debut, where he fought seven times in 2013 - winning six and drawing once, racking up 5 KO wins.

As a pro, he has not fought outside of his native Australia or New Zealand.

Which notable boxers has Jeff Horn beat?

On June 2, 2017, Horn stunned the world by beating Manny Pacquiao in Brisbane.

The win, via a unanimous points decision, saw him win the WBO belt off the Filipino.

In April 2016, Horn beat two-weight world champion Randall Bailey  by stopping him in the eighth round.

Randall was a WBO lightweight champion, as well as being an IBF welterweight champ, and since fighting the Australian, hasn't been back in the ring.

After knocking out Rico Mueller, Horn then blasted away former IBO welterweight champion Ali Funeka inside six rounds to cement himself as number two in the rankings.

What titles has Jeff Horn won?

Horn is the proud holder of the WBO welterweight belt.

In just his fifth fight as a professional, he captured the Australian belt after beating Samuel Colomban.

He has also picked up the WBO inter-continental title, the IBF inter-continental title and the WBO oriental belt.

In addition to that, Horn has won the PABA welterweight belt, and the WBA Pan African title.
