Rashford is wanted by several sides across Europe but there is also believed to be interest from closer to home.

The are reporting that Tottenham would like to bring him in on loan this month after The Athletic claimed an unnamed Premier League side were weighing up a bid.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou was asked about the possibility of signing Rashford back in December and he gave little away, saying: “If I looked at everyone we were linked to, I would have no time to do anything else to be honest.

"For us, we’ve been pretty disciplined in what we’re trying to build here and we’ll continue to be so.

“You can ask me about Marcus but you can ask me about every single Premier League footballer and I’ll say the same thing."

Spurs are looking to bolster their attacking options in Rashford's position, having been linked with PSG star Randal Kolo Muani.

United's wantaway England star is also on the radar of AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

Rashford's agent and brother Dwaine has reportedly flown to Italy to discuss a switch to the Serie A giants.

Any move away will supposedly depend on how much of his £325,000-a-week wages United are prepared to pay.

An option or obligation to buy could also be inserted into a deal as United are open to permanently offloading Rashford.

United could also sell Kobbie Mainoo this month amid interest from Chelsea as he is another homegrown player.

Cash raised from their sales would help ease pressure to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Rashford revealed his intention to leave United last month, saying: "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.

"When I leave it's going to be, ‘No hard feelings.'

"You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.

"If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse.

"I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person.
