Sky Sports forced to apologise for Michael van Gerwen’s X-rated comment on live TV after beating Dobey in PDC semis

SKY SPORTS presenter Abigail Davies was forced to apologise after Michael van Gerwen dropped the F-bomb live on air.

Van Gerwen was in good spirits after cruising to a 6-1 victory against Chris Dobey in the World Darts Championship semi-finals.

But he didn't want to get too carried away by thinking about the title up or grabs on Friday.

Asked by the presenter where this world title would rank among his three others, the Dutchman responded: "That's something to worry about tomorrow.

"I don't care. I've won f*** all yet!"

Davies quickly chimed in to say: "We are going to have to apologise for that language..."

Fans were left in stitches and took to social media to react, with one person writing: "Michael Van Gerwen at his best lol."

Another quipped: "Hero Van Gerwen 😂."

A third said: "Best part was that he didn't even realise until she apologised 🤣."

While a fourth commented: "Just got to love Michael van Gerwen!"

After securing his spot in the final, the Dutchman also said: "I’m here with a mission and a target. You’ll always have ups and downs.

"I showed a lot of mentality. Even when things don’t go your way, I was still able to produce good stuff in the right moments.

"That gives me a lot of confidence. To win on this stage, especially in the semi-final, it means a lot to me.

Van Gerwen will now face either Luke Littler or Stephen Bunting in the final.
