  • De Bruyne future

Kevin De Bruyne has remained coy about his future at the Etihad.

The Belgian playmaker has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

He said: "Rumours on my future? I don't care. I'm just trying to get back to my level.

“I feel every week I'm getting better. I can play for 90 minutes now. It's been an uncomfortable couple of months with the injury.”

  • Slot defends Alexander-Arnold

Arne Slot defended Trent Alexander-Arnold after he suffered a difficult day against Man Utd.

The defender has been subject of a contract stand off at Anfield - with Real Madrid chasing the England star.

After the game, Slot said: "I don’t believe in those things. I think nine out of 10 people will tell you it affected him but I am one of the 10 that tells you I don’t think that affected him.

"What affected him was that he had to play Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, who are two starters for Portugal.

"Great, great, great players. We have a fantastic player here with Diogo Jota and mostly he is not playing for Portugal. That tells you how much quality United have and if these players set themselves to a game, and that is what United once in a while do, then it is very difficult to play against them.

"That is more difficult for Trent to play against Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot than the rumours there were during the week. That’s my opinion and probably everybody will tell you it had to do with the rumours. My opinion is different."

“We need support in that area and want to add more goals for the squad if possible. But I'm pretty sure every club in world football would have the same sort of wish list in January.”

  • Liverpool star 'will be sold to Tranmere'

  • Milan's Rashford interest

Italian journalist Manuele Baiocchini has revealed that AC Milan would be "very interested" in signing Marcus Rashford on loan this month.

The Sky Sports reporter said: "There are names that are of interest [to Milan] like the one mentioned last night which is Marcus Rashford.

“At AC Milan he could be the deputy to [Rafael] Leao or the alternative to [Alvaro] Morata and [Tammy] Abraham. Basically, it is an opportunity that Milan would also be ready to take.

"If Manchester United would loan out a player like Rashford Milan would be interested, very interested.

“However, there is the issue with the salary: Rashford gets €14m a year, between now and June it would be €7m. A salary totally out of reach of any Italian team.

“If Manchester United were to loan him out and contribute to pay the wage in a substantial way then Milan would be ready to talk about it in a very concrete way, something that for now has not yet begun but the idea is on the table.”
