LIVERPOOL have thrashed West Ham 5-0 to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to eight points.

Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota fired the Reds to a third straight top-flight triumph on a routine night for Arne Slot's men.

Earlier, Manchester City finally stopped the rot with a 2-0 win over Leicester in the early kick-off.

Elsewhere, Tottenham had to settle for a point after Wolves scored late on to secure a 2-2 draw.

Nottingham Forest continued their good run with a 2-0 win away at Everton.

  • Leicester 0-1 Man City

    41. The Foxes only have themselves to blame for being behind in this game, they have had plenty of chances.

This time as Man City fail to deal with a cross, Buonanotte heads towards goal, only to see his effort come back off the post.

Guardiola's side are just looking static in defence.

  • Tottenham 0-1 Wolves

    7. Ait-Nouri plays a free-kick to Hwang outside the box.

He fires off a right-footed shot into the bottom corner to give the visitors an unexpected lead in North London.

As it nestled in the back of the net, you could hear the groans from the Spurs fans.

  • Goal - Hwang Hee-chan (Wolves)

  • Leicester 0-1 Man City

    35. We had a brief glimpse of the old Erling Haaland there.

He picks the ball up in the final third, dribbles at the Leicester defence and shows some good footwork to take it in between two defenders and onto his left foot.

A goal seems inevitable but he drags his effort wide of the near post.

    Stay humble.

  • Leicester 0-1 Man City

    31. Man City come forward and the ball is played into De Bruyne in the penalty area.

He throws himself to the floor looking for a penalty but the referee is not interested.

The replay shows it was a pathetic dive from the Belgian, officials need to start brandishing yellow cards for these instances, it is the only way you will stamp it out of the game.

The City fans have been in fine voice all afternoon and now they have something to sing about.

"We're staying up, we're staying up, we're staying, City's staying up," they sing after Savinho has given them the lead with his long-awaited first goal for the club.

It came just moments after Jamie Vardy was gifted a chance by Josko Gvardiol. But City have made a habit of going ahead and not winning recently.

  • Leicester 0-1 Man City

    21. Foden shoots from distance and The Foxes' keeper makes the save but as with most modern keepers, parries it back into the danger area.

Savinho is first to it and drills it into the back of the net as Stolarczyk tries to make himself big with one of those Schmeichel-like star jumps.

Just what the visitors needed in this game.

EVEN THE FULHAM players are laughing as they warm up at the response of Fulham's mascot to a pre-match question on the PA.

Asked who her favourite player is, the little girl replied 'Harry Kane' - of Bayern Munich - having just predicted a score line of 6-5.

    Let's hope so.

  • Leicester 0-0 Man City

    16. First bit of drama at the King Power Stadium.

Vardy makes a run in behind the City defence, takes it around Ortega and is wiped out by the German.

Fortunately for the visitors it is adjudged that he was offside when the ball was played.

The visitors are awarded a free kick in a dangerous position when Kovacic is fouled downfield.

Rico Lewis seems to be the Bruno Fernandes of Man City, whenever the referee has a decision to make you can see the Sideshow Bob lookalike screaming in his face.

Bold attitude from a youngster who has done nothing in the game to do date.

De Bruyne drills the free-kick into the wall and it comes to nothing.

  • Leicester 0-0 Man City

    9. The Foxes come away on a counter attack with Mavididi, who cuts into the box but drags his shot wide of the target.

Man City continue to press and some good work from De Bruyne as he picks out an unmarked Haaland in the box.

He hits his shot straight at Stolarczyk, who saves with his feet.

WHAT A WEEK for the players warming up at Craven Cottage. Fulham celebrated their first Premier League win at Chelsea with their dramatic injury time stunner.

Yet matchwinner Rodrigo Muniz is still on the bench while Harry Wilson is a starter having scored the equaliser.

Bournemouth have four academy players and two keepers on the bench due to eight absences.  Cherries defender James Hill has played only five minutes in the league this season.

  • Leicester 0-0 Man City

    3. The early game is underway and the defending champions are dominating the early stages.

De Bruyne returns to the starting line-up and is looking to make things happen for Guardiola's side.

They just seem to be missing that killer pass in the final third.

Zach Abbott has maintained Nottingham Forest’s home-grown link that stretches back over 80 years.

There were fears that because of Ryan Yates’ suspension the squad would be without either an academy graduate of a player for whom Forest was their first professional team for the first time since 1941.

But boss Nuno Espirito Santo has included centre back Abbott, 18, for the clash with Everton and the youngster’s well- qualified.

The England under-19 was a member of the academy team that lost the 2022 FA Youth Cup final to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

  • Sides frustrated by Cunha factor

Wolves travel to North London today to take on Tottenham.

The influential Matheus Cunha starts for the visitors despite having a potential ban hanging over his head for his exploits at the end of their defeat against Ipswich Town.

Cunha has already been charged with misconduct but eligible to play until the panel convene to decide on the punishment.

There are a lot of sides who feel this is not acceptable as he is able to cost teams points when they feel he should not be able to play for Vitor Pereira's side.

Scenes here as the stadium announcer reveals that even Man City's young mascot for the day thinks Leicester are going to win 2-1.

Surely not. Captain, my captain. Both teams are looking for some kind of Dead Poets Society-style inspiration to get out of their respective ruts.

Kevin de Bruyne for Jeremy Doku is the only change that Pep Guardiola makes to the team that started the draw against Everton.

Fellow thirtysomething skipper Jamie Vardy is back for Leicester.

  • Perfect chance for misfiring champions

Man City travel to Leicester in the early kick-off, a fixture that seems the ideal opportunity to get back to winning way.

The Foxes have been struggling of late and conceding goals is becoming a major issue.

Even in their poor run of form, it is hard to see an outcome other than a win for Pep Guardiola's side this afternoon.

ANGE POSTECOGLOU faces another big game in a season of big games for the under-fire Aussie.

There was a fear he would be without any fit centre-backs.

But fortunately Radu Dragusin has been passed fit, despite hobbling off with an ankle injury at Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.

Postecoglou’s horrendous injury crisis has contributed to his side losing HALF of their Premier League games this season.

And if they lose at home to Wolves today, the heat will likely crank up significantly.

New Wolves boss Vitor Pereira is hoping to make it three wins out of three and has handed Hwang Hee-Chan his first start since August after his knock-out goal against Manchester United last time out.

Is this the day City finally turn things around?

After romping to a fourth straight title last season, the champs' decline has been incredible to behold.

Their last 13 games in all competitions have yielded just ONE win.

Nine of those results have been defeats... and Leicester fans will be praying to make it double figures.

  • Man City team news

Pep Guardiola has made just one change to his team after City's 1-1 draw with Everton.

Winger Jeremy Doku has dropped down to the bench.

While midfield talisman Kevin De Bruyne is back in the middle of the park.

City also welcome Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish back to the squad, giving Guardiola several options from the bench.
