GABRIEL JESUS ended his 11-MONTH wait for a goal - then a second came along within 15 minutes at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal star Jesus followed up his midweek hat-trick against Crystal Palace with his first Premier League goals since January.

Ismaila Sarr equalised early in a frantic start but Jesus scored his second soon after before Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli struck.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    35. The Eagles will see themselves as still in this game.

One thing is for sure, the next goal will be key.

If The Gunners can get it, it is hard to see a way back for the hosts.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    33. Palace force another corner.

The referee is not happy with all the pushing and shoving in the box.

Lacroix meets it at the near post but heads it over once again.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    31. Despite their lead, The Gunners are not looking comfortable.

Gabriel lunges into a challenge on Sarr and is shown a yellow card.

The aim for the visitors will be to get to the interval with their lead intact.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    29. Arteta is looking animated on the touchline.

He is not happy with what he is seeing from his team.

They are allowing Palace to attack them at will too much for his liking.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    27. The Eagles are struggling to find that killer pass in the final third.

They are asking serious questions of The Gunners but all too often the attack breaks down with a misplaced pass.

It is entertaining for the neutral to watch.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    25. Bad news for Arsenal fans.

Saka has been forced off with an injury.

Not that the hosts will be complaining at all.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    23. This is the one criticism of Mateta.

He is not clinical enough in front of goal.

For a side like Palace, they need to take their chances when they present themselves.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    21. Crystal Palace should be level.

Arsenal give the ball away in their own box and Sarr feeds it to Mateta.

He should have scored but allowed Raya to make the block.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    19. Arsenal are trying to take the pace out of the game.

When in possession, they are happy to pass it around and control the tempo.

Palace have seen that their high tempo causes the visitors problems.

  • View from SunSport's Andy Dillon at Selhurst Park

Declan Rice is fit again but not fit enough to start. The midfielder missed the midweek Carabao Cup win over Palace but would he have played anyway?

Seems the England man has been carrying a knock for a number of weeks, coming off in the last two matches.

It's mild and damp at Selhurst Park - about as Christmassy as a piece of turkey poo on your shoe.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    17. Well this is an entertaining start at Selhurst Park.

One thing is for sure, we have not seen the end of the goals.

Both sides look like scoring whenever they come forward at the moment.

  • Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

    15. This could be a goal-fest in the capital.

Palace fail to clear their lines from a corner and it is laid back into the path of Jesus.

Another calm finish from the Brazilian.

  • Goal - Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal)

  • Crystal Palace 1-1 Arsenal

    13. That goal all came from Arsenal bringing pressure onto themselves.

Raya was brought in for his ability with the ball at his feet, not sure who scouted that bit of info for Arteta.

Sarr bends the ball into the far corner to the delight of the home fans.

  • Goal - Ismaila Sarr (Crystal Palace)

  • Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

    11. Hughes puts a great cross into the box.

Lacroix has a free header six yards from goal but sends it sailing over the crossbar.

He should be working the keeper at least from there.

Raya then almost gifts Palace a goal as they try to play out from the back but the effort goes wide of the target.

  • Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

    9. Mateta looks to get forward for The Eagles.

Partey puts in a clumsy challenge to foul him.

Chance for the hosts to ask some questions of the visitors' defence.

  • Crystal Palace 0-1 Arsenal

    7. It is the perfect start for Mikel Arteta's side.

Palace looked all over the shop in the middle, with Gabriel doing his usual NFL approach of blocking players.

The ball dropped to an unmarked Jesus at the back post, who passes it into the back of the net.

  • Goal - Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal)

  • Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal

    3. The hosts will massively miss Eze tonight.

When he is in this team, they look a different proposition.

Instead, they will need to make this a frustrating evening for The Gunners, giving them no time on the ball and employing a physical approach.

  • Crystal Palace 0-0 Arsenal

    1. Arsenal look to pass the ball around early on.

They know they will see the majority of possession and will be looking to make The Eagles chase the ball.

One of the issues they have had this season is turning that dominance into goals.

  • Kick-off: Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

We are underway at Selhurst Park.

It is an electric atmosphere in the capital.

    Arsenal get the game started.

  • Arsenal arrive

The Arsenal players have arrived at Selhurst Park and are looking very snazzy in their retro tracksuits.

  • No Sterling

Raheem Sterling is missing from the squad today because of an injury he picked up in training on Friday.

Arteta said: "Raheem unfortunately we lost him yesterday, he felt something in training and had to come off and we need to explore that with more tests."
