FT: Aston Villa 2-1 Man City
It is all over at Villa Park.
A massive win for Unai Emery's side.
Man City are now nine points behind leaders Liverpool, with The Reds having two games in hand.
Aston Villa 2-1 Man City
90+3. Man City finally find a way through.
It was a lucky goal as the move had broken down but Digne couldn't sort his feet out and gifted the ball to Foden in the box.
He stroked it past Martinez but it may be too little too late.
Goal - Phil Foden (Man City)
Aston Villa 2-0 Man City
90. We are heading into four minutes of added time now.
Man City are camped out in the Aston Villa half but cannot create any clear-cut chances.
This has been a sterling performance from the hosts.
Aston Villa 2-0 Man City
84. Watkins has the chance to put the game to bed.
With only Ortega to beat, from a wide angle, he drills his shot straight at the German.
Martinez has had to so little to do in the Aston Villa goal.
Aston Villa 2-0 Man City
76. Man City are pressing forward, desperate to find a way back into this match.
This works well for the hosts, they can just try and pick them off on the break.
Should City lose again, Guardiola will be a joy to spend Christmas with no doubt.
Aston Villa 2-0 Man City
66. Finally the hosts have doubled their lead.
Great play from McGinn in the build-up, he then laid it off to Rogers, who drilled a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
It is hard to see a way back into this for Man City now.
Goal - Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)

CITY are hardly nailing Villa to the floor with their efforts to find an equaliser…in fact if a second goal is coming, you’d fancy it to be from the home side.
Jhon Duran has had a second ruled out for a hair’s breadth offside call, while Stefan Ortega had to react smartly to save from Morgan Rogers.
All of which probablyt means City are guaranteed to be level within minutes!
Aston Villa 1-0 Man City
60. How Aston Villa are not leading by more is mind-bending.
Rogers is the latest player to have his head in his hands as he hits the post.
It was a tight angle but you would fancy the Villa attacker to do a lot better.

PEP Guardiola left John Stones in no doubt that it wasn’t his most impressive performance of the season at various stages of the first half.
Well he clearly wasn’t impressed with the response because Stones didn’t reappear after the break, his place taken by Kyle Walker.
Things can only get better? The way your luck’s going, don’t bet on it Pep.
Aston Villa 1-0 Man City
51. Aston Villa should be ahead by more here.
Duran scores to seemingly double the lead but it is ruled out for offside.
Moments earlier, Cash had a brilliant chance to square it to Tielemans to tap home but took the shot on and found the side netting.
HT: Aston Villa 1-0 Man City
It has all gone according to plan for Unai Emery.
They have kept the visitors at bay and put them under intense pressure with their pace on the counter-attack.
You do feel they need a second goal to give them a cushion in the game.
HT: Aston Villa 1-0 Man City
It is half-time at Villa Park.
Aston Villa are good value for their lead, if anything, it could be more.
Pep Guardiola has it all to do in the break.
Aston Villa 1-0 Man City
40. We are almost at the interval now.
All Man City have to show for it is a single shot from Foden that forced a decent save from Martinez.
Ortega has been far the busier keeper, the hosts look dangerous on the attack.
City's defence are so open, it is very un-Pep-like.
Aston Villa 1-0 Man City
30. This is looking so comfortable for Unai Emery's side.
For all Man City's possession there is no penetration whatsoever.
When Aston Villa come forward, they look like scoring every time.

PEP Guardiola told his players to forget about football for three days after the derby. Some clearly thought he said three weeks.
John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Mateo Kovacic were all caught napping as three passes – notably the one from Youri Tielemans – sliced them wide open and ended in Jhon Duran sweeping Villa ahead.
That’s six in six starts for the Villa striker…and the way City are defending right now may not be the end of it for him today either.
Aston Villa 1-0 Man City
20. Great pass from Tielemans to set Rogers away.
He managed to stay ahead of the defenders before unselfiishly squaring it to Duran.
Ortega tried to throw himself at the striker but Duran finished well to give Unai Emery's side the lead.
Goal - Jhon Duran (Aston Villa)
Aston Villa 0-0 Man City
10. Both sides are getting forward a lot in the early stages.
For the neutral it is a great watch as the match is end-to-end stuff currently.
The first goal could be pivotal today as to which way this one goes.
Aston Villa 0-0 Man City
1. Aston Villa have flown out of the traps in the early game.
Duran was slotted through one on one with Ortega but the keeper made a good save.
From the resulting corner a Pau Torres header seemed to be in but somehow the German stopper kept it out.
What a start from the hosts.
All go at Villa Park
The early kick-off is about to get underway at Villa Park.
Two sides who thought their campaigns were going to be a lot different to how the table currently looks.
A draw does neither siide a favour and they will be looking to pick up all three points,
