    37. Arsenal are playing some crisp passing in and around the box.

As it comes to Partey, he looks to bend one in behind the visitors' defensive line.

Sadly there are no players attacking that area for the hosts and it runs out of play.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    35. Trossard clips a ball into the box from out wide.

Merino flicks it on but there is no one behind him in a Gunners' shirt to capitalise.

Crystal Palace calmly bring the ball out of defence.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    33. Mateta looks to feed it inot the path of Sarr.

On this occasion it is cut out well.

The Gunners need to be wary of that ball, the Palace winger showed his goalscoring prowess on the weekend with a brace.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    31. That free-kick routine went from the bizarre to the brilliant.

Trossard stepped over it and we waited for another ten seconds until Sterling decided to strike it.

His effort was heading into the top corner but Henderson gets across to make a good save.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    29. The Gunners are seeing a lot of possession but not creating any clear-cut chances from it.

That has been the main problem of late and why they are struggling to score goals in open play.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    27. Arteta's side have it all to do here.

The longer the game goes on with them trailing, the more frustrated the home fans will get.

For Oliver Glasner, all is going according to plan right now.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    25. Jorgingo plays a lovely clipped ball over the top for Jesus.

His trying to get it under control takes all momentum out of the attack.

Palace regroup and win possession back.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    23. Kporha is shown a yellow card for a foul on Trossard.

Chance for Stoke to put another cross into the box.

Once again all their players line up at the back post like they are in queueing for school dinners.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    21. The aim for the visitors tonight will be to frustrate Arsenal.

Being a goal to the good certainly does that.

Trossard receives the ball wide in the box but is outmuscled by the Palace defence.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    17. That early goal has given Palace confidence in North London.

They are playing with an air of arrogance and looking to take the game to The Gunners.

The next goal seems crucial, if The Eagles get it, the atmosphere would drop massively in the stadium.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    15. Jesus gives the ball away to Sarr.

He drives forward down the right and cuts into the box before trying to get a shot away.

Raya parries it and the defence clear their lines.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    13. The Gunners need to monitor the runs of Eze.

He likes to drop into a central role more now and build the attacks for The Eagles.

Add to that he also has the skill and pace to burst through the middle of the park.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    11. Arsenal force their first corner of the game.

It misses everyone and Lerma heads it off the line.

As the hosts look to recycle it, Jesus has a shot from the edge of the box but there was no power in it and Henderson gathers.

Moments later the ball drops to Trossard on the edge of the box but he puts his shot into orbit.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    9. The Gunners have failed to score a goal from open play in their last four games.

Arteta needs to find a way to change that.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    7. Well having rotated his squad, anthing but victory tonight will raise some questions about the depth and quality.

Arsenal are struggling to deal with the direct approach of the visitors as Kiwior struggles to see the ball out.

The fans in the away end seem to be enjoying themselves though.

  • Arsenal 0-1 Crystal Palace

    5. What an error from Kiwior for Arsenal.

He completely misses the ball as he goes to head it and is muscled out of the way by Mateta.

The forward shows great composure as he slots it past Raya to give the visitors the lead.

  • Goal - Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace)

  • Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace

    1. A lot of Arsenal fans will be glad to see Tierney back in the side after all his injury problems.

He offers another option with his long throws as well.

I've just realised, this might actually be Stoke City.

  • Kick-off: Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

We are underway at The Emirates.

It is a lively atmosphere in North London this evening.

Crystal Palace get the game started.

  • Show me the trophies

Having spent heavily since taking over at The Emirates, we are fast-approaching that point where the owners want to see return on their investment from Mikel Arteta.

Despite Arteta underlining his Community Shield trophy wins, it is major silverware that both the fans and board will want.

Having reached the quarter-final stage, this is surely a competition the manager needs to take seriously to try and put something in that bare trophy cabinet.

  • View from Jordan Davies at The Emirates

A little factoid to make you scratch your head with kick-off approaching. The last time Arsenal had neither William Saliba nor Gabriel in their starting XI was back in JANUARY 2022.

That night was a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round, one that sparked an infamous Mikel Arteta meltdown caught on the cameras in the All Or Nothing Amazon documentary, the Spaniard shouting: "When I lose a duel, I am upset!"

Let's hope for Arsenal's sake that is not the case tonight, despite a much-changed team and an alarming-looking back four...

  • New kid on the block

While he has had a handful of appearances from the bench, tonight's game offers a big chance for Ethan Nwaneri to show his worth.

Nobody doubts the talents and potential of the youngster but proving to the manager that he is deserving of a starting place is another thing.

In front of his own fans, this a night of importance for the young midfielder.

  • Boss bites at questions of lack of success

In his pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta seemed to take offence by a journalist's comment about only having won one trophy during his tenure:

The Charity Shield as well twice, no? So it’s three (trophies). We need more. We want more and we want the big ones as well. The pressure comes because we are at a big club. You want to do the best that you possibly can and that’s related to winning the major trophies and this is what we want to do.
