Man City vs Man Utd LIVE RESULT: City STUNNED as Amad and Bruno score two in just TWO MINUTES to turn derby on its head

MANCHESTER UNITED scored two goals in just TWO MINUTES to STUN derby rivals Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side had been leading until the 89th-minute when a Matheus Nunes horror show saw City concede a penalty and Bruno Fernandes coolly strike home.

But United weren't finished there as Amad Diallo produced a wonderful touch to round Ederson and slot home a second goal.

Follow all the action with our live blog below...

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    32. Doku tries to find De Bruyne on the overlap with a cheeky back-heel inside the area, but it's read by Mazraoui, who immediately starts a United break.

A hopeful chip into the box from Martinez is cleared as far as Ugarte, who controls and skewers the visitors' first shot of the game high and wide of goal.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    30. Half hour in and Manchester United are yet to register a touch in the Manchester City penalty area.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    29. Wait, Matheus Nunes really is playing left-back!

I assumed Micah Richards had just started on the eggnog early when he suggested that was the case.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    27. There's a rare moment of excitement as Amad finds room inside the area before pulling a shot on to the outside of the near post.

Before anyone can criticise the youngster for not choosing the bigger angle to aim for though, the flag goes up to signal he was offside once again.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    25. Hojlund and Haaland are all over each other as the latest City corner is swung into the area.

Some people would pay a lot of money to see two blonde Scandinavians going at it like that.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    23. Another Foden attempt is deflected wide by Maguire.

It was decent build-up involving De Bruyne and Haaland, although United made it far too easy for their rivals to play through the middle.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    21. City exploit HUGE gaps on the near touchline to lead the charge through Nunes, De Bruyne and Doku.

An eventual cross in the direction of Haaland is headed softly away by Dalot as far as Foden, who chests down and volleys the first attempt of the game wide.

Onana was rooted to his spot.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    19. Nineteen minutes in and neither team has had a shot, either on or off target.

"Nothing's happened," moans Gary Neville on Sky Sports. "It's as simple as that."

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    17. Despite the stoppage of Mount's injury, it has been notable in the early stages that City are having a hard time keeping hold of the ball.

It's not lost on the home support either, who are beginning to let their frustrations be known.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    15. The rather depressing statistic off the back of that injury is that Mason Mount now hasn't completed 90 minutes in the Premier League game since playing for Chelsea against Crystal Palace in January 2023.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    14. Mount is consoled by Bruno Fernandes as he departs the pitch.

On comes Kobbie Mainoo, which is likely to mean the United captain shifts further upfield.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    13. Oh no! This is a real shame for Mason Mount, who has gone down off the ball and has a resigned look on his face that suggests he will be unable to continue.

It's the latest blow to his Manchester United career that has been more motionless than stop-start.

Fingers crossed that it's not anything significant.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    11. It's the first instance of one of Gary Neville's pet hates: the flag not going up when a player is clearly offside.

Amad is the guilty party, setting off far too early to collect a Mazraoui pass, but not flagged until the attack had broken down some 15 seconds later.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    10. Dalot is seeing plenty of action so far.

This time he cuts back inside on to his right foot before spooning a cross over everyone and out of play.

Perhaps stick to the left foot, Diogo.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    9. Hojlund holds up play well despite the very close attention of Dias.

The pair were almost grappling WWE style there. That could be a battle to watch over the next 80 minutes or so.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    7. United defend the corner, and then show their first attacking intent this afternoon.

Dalot bursts to the byline and digs out a cross in the direction of Hojlund, only to see it claimed by Ederson at the second attempt.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    5. Another quick free-kick has Doku on the move again, and he soon sends the ball on to Bernardo on the underlap.

The midfielder goes looking for Haaland at the far post with a cross that is superbly defended by Martinez, although leads to the game's first corner.

  • Man City 0-0 Man Utd

    3. De Bruyne is bundled over by Dalot on the far touchline to draw the first free-kick of the game.

A quick switch has Doku in possession, but he fails to keep his dribble in play; not that he agrees with the decision, if his finger wag in the direction of the officials is anything to go by.

  • Kick-off - Man City v Man Utd

    1. As the final notes of Blue Moon play out, both teams come out of a huddle in order for referee Anthony Taylor to blow his whistle and start the contest.

Manchester City have yet again been turned around by a visiting Manchester United, and will kick towards their own supporters in the first half.

  • Here come the two teams!

You can feel the excitement in the air, and even Roy Keane "is pumped," according to Micah Richards.

The Manchester United players are made to wait in the tunnel alongside an array of young Manchester City mascots before Kyle Walker eventually leads his team down the steps to join their opponents in heading for the pitch.

The winter sun has completely disappeared, and for all intents and purposes this may as well be a night game - with an atmosphere to match.

Pep Guardiola and Ruben Amorim have made bold choices with their team selections, now it's up to those players to prove their managers right.

Walker and Bruno Fernandes go through the pre-match rituals of the captains in the centre-circle, but that's the niceties over.

    Kick-off comes next.

  • New lease of life for Bruno

After registering just two goal involvements (two assists) in his nine Premier League games under Erik Ten Hag this season, Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes is getting back to his best.

The Red Devils captain has had a hand in six goals (three goals and three assists) in his last six appearances following the Dutchman’s departure from Old Trafford.

And the Portuguese playmaker often comes up with the goods when facing United's noisy neighbours.

Fernandes has been involved in five goals in his last six appearances against Manchester City in all competitions (two goals and three assists), setting up a goal in each of the last three derbies.

  • City stars start together

While Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford are nowhere to be seen, two of Manchester City's key attacking players are set to start together in the Premier League for the first time this season.

The last time Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne were both in the same City line-up was the 3-1 home victory against West Ham in May that clinched a fourth successive title.

  • 'I could not sleep'

A strong message from Pep Guardiola who says he has not thought about leaving Man City while they struggle through their worst period in years.

He said: ""I would not be able to sleep – even worse than now – if I thought I was leaving when the club is in this situation. Impossible.

"They might sack me, that could happen. But leaving now, in this position? No chance.

"There are many things we have to do; go into the market at the right moment, maybe in winter or maybe the other one, to make the squad bigger, so they compete with each other to make the players better.

"Nothing is eternal. You have to be honest. If I am losing and losing and losing, more and more, in the end I say, 'guys, you have to get someone else to fix this'."

  • Warming up

  • On the group chat

Ruben Amorim also revealed to Sky Sports that he informed Rashford and Garnacho of the decision to drop them via WHATSAPP.

"I’ve informed Garnacho and Rashford on WhatsApp," he said, according to Fabrizio Romano on X.
