I’m becoming a bit of a fan boy of BROADWAY BOY but he would have an outstanding chance if heading to Chepstow for their Christmas cracker.
He has run two excellent races already this season when third at Cheltenham on comeback before his Coral Gold Cup second at Newbury.

His one mistake of the race came four out and would have flattened most horses but he picked himself up again for a running-on second over the 3m2f trip.

The extra distance of the Welsh National looks ideal and he’s a Listed chase winner in testing ground so won’t mind if we get the usual bog on the day.
Some bookies are as low as 7-1 but there’s still some 12s about and that looks an excellent price.
Last year’s winner NASSALAM could easily bounce back from some modest runs.
This has been his target ever since he crossed the winning line 12 months ago so don’t worry too much about his form.
He’s 7lb higher than his success but he scored by a distance and was 161 after that.
Gary Moore has done a fine job in getting him down to 152 – Langer Dan would be proud of that.
He wants heavy ground and is likely to get his ideal conditions again.
