It was a thrilling contest, but it was Wattimena who was more lethal with his doubles.

  • Wattimena 3-2 Bellmont (3-0)

Wattimena is being made to throw well here.

Bellmont's hit his fifth 180 of the contest, leaving 129.

Wattimena whittles down 190 odd to 57. That's a fabulous response.

But hang on... Bellmont needs double 12 for the set, and he's so close!

Wattimena makes him pay, but Bellmont can go home proud after that.

  • Wattimena 2-2 Bellmont (2-0)

Wattimena won't get a Big Fish, but leaves double tops. Great set up.

    Bellmont needs an 83 finish.

And you know what? He only gets it. Brilliant checkout.

  • Wattimena 2-1 Bellmont (2-0)

That was so comfortable from Wattimena.

He was under a bit of pressure at the start of his set, but his response was cal, and collected.

    A 14 dart leg, there.

  • Wattimena 1-1 Bellmont (2-0)

Both players hit two 180s. Lovely stuff, the crowd loves it too.

But it's Wattimena's chance here with a 53 finish, he finds the 13 but can't find the double 20.

Bellmont needs 108 to go, but he's a double 16 away from an impressive checkout.

Wattimena gets a tough double 5 and breaks straight back.

  • Wattimena 0-1 Bellmont (2-0)

Bellmont's on double 16 to take the opening leg, but he misses.

Consolation is he'll be back because Wattimena can't finish, leaving 54.

Finally, the Swiss gets a double 8. He over compensated but we got there in the end.

  • Wattimena 3-1 Bellmont (2-0)

A well timed 180 for Bellmont, but Wattimena is on a double 16 finish.

No mistake. He takes the second leg.

The Dutchman is in cruise control.

Averages are around 98 and 89 right now for Wattimena and Bellmont, respectively.

  • Wattimena 2-1 Bellmont (1-0)

First maximum of the night for The Machine Gun, but it's Bellmont who's on a finish first - all 134 of it.

However, his 50 odd score leaves 76.

Wattimena's 134 puts pressure on his opponent to leave 41.

Bellmont has two at double 8, and he stops the rot!

  • Wattimena 2-0 Bellmont (1-0)

Double 10, after missing tops, gives Wattimena ANOTHER leg.

Wattimena's finishing his going really well tonight.

    Bellmont's head has dropped.

  • Wattimena 1-0 Bellmont (1-0)

The Machine Gun sets himself up nicely with a 95 finish.

Bellmont is 100, so this needs to go.

Two tops, which is brilliant from Wattimena gives him a break of throw.

He's a man who is playing with confidence.

  • Wattimena 3-1 Bellmont (1-0)

The pressure's on Bellmont, as Wattimena takes advantage of a slip to score 140.

That gives him the slight advantage - and he's on a 125 finish.

However, he's misses the double 20 to secure the set.

Bellmont can't close 140 plus, and Wattimena takes the opening set.

  • Wattimena 2-1 Bellmont (0-0)

A 100 score gets Wattimena down to a Big Fish finish.

    Bellmont's 92 doesn't leave him with a finish on 216.

Wattimena's the bullseye away, but misses his 170 checkout, That would have been special.

However, he returns to get a double 16 to go 2-1 up.

  • Wattimena 1-1 Bellmont (0-0)

    Bellmont, on a 128 finish, leaves 82.

Wattimena is miles out, but whittles his score down to 137.

Bellmont's double 10 is a brilliant rescue, and he wins his first ever leg in a world championship.

  • Wattimena 1-0 Bellmont (0-0)

A 180 from the Swiss leaves him 116.

He needs this to go because Wattimena leaves tops for the opening leg.

It's doesn't and and after setting two markers the Dutchman gets wins the opener.

  • Up next!

The first Swiss player to make it to the World Darts Championship, it's Stefan Bellmont who walks up first.

He will take on Jermaine Wattimena.

I make Wattimena favourite for this, he's been in fine form this season.

  • Tricole 3-2 Comito (2-1)

A 180 from Comito might just give the Aussie the edge.

But the Frenchman responds with a 140.

Tricole misses a big number- he made a big mess of that leaving 32.

Comito then misses his own big number. But if he sneaks a double 20 he'll send us to a decider.

He doesn't! Draaaaama! Tricole gets the double 16! It's al over!

  • Tricole 2-2 Comito (2-1)

Better from Tricole. He now gets himself off to a great start with a 140, then 85.

But Comito rockets back with a ton to sneak down to 221. Tricole doesn't leave a finish with 179.

A ton 40 though is huge for Comito, leaving 81. Tricole's 99 edges him in front.

A dart to the bull for Comito to sneak the leg. He's missed it!

Two match darts missed by Tricole, and double tops means Comito isn't done just yet.

  • Tricole 2-1 Comito (2-1)

This is the leg Tricole needed

Two 100 plus scores leave him with a 62 checkout.

He misses the double 16, but he'll get more opportunities with Comito way out there.

Double 8, no. But double 4 DOES go!

  • Tricole 1-1 Comito (2-1)

Things are starting to go Comito's way in this game.

The Aussie requires 135, with Tricole unable to finish. But 40 odd isn't a great score from him.

However, Tricole leaves himself 128 - a poor three darts from him.

94 checkout from Comito! He's level!

  • Tricole 1-0 Comito (2-1)

Comito dug in deep in that third set, and deservedly has one set on the board.

However, it's Tricole who is first to a finish again with 141.

But Comito's 180 leaves him the Big Fish to reel in.

Tricole's impressive turn leaves him with double 10.

Comito can't find 170, yet it's Tricole who is panicking. He misses the double five needed.

Comito so close to a 112 finish, misses narrowly.

Tricole's double 1 gets him crawling over the line, eventually.

  • Tricole 2-3 Comito (2-1)

Funny moment. Comito declines the opportunity for a maximum as the crowd egg him on.

    He apologises with a smile.

But Comito needs just 52 to snatch the leg and send us to a fourth set.

And tops is Comito's friend again! He's back in this match.

  • Tricole 2-2 Comito (2-0)

Tricole's making hard work of this.

But a 180, his second of the match, should stir him into action.

It gives him breathing space, and then he returns to leave 32.

    Comito, on 167, scores 99.

Yet Tricole can't get the double 16 to stick.

Comito misses his double 16 for a 68 finish - opening the door for Tricole to pin that double, FINALLY!

  • Tricole 1-2 Comito (2-0)

Nine darts in and Comito is already down to 87!

And he's a double 4 away from a 12 darter. Great darts from the Aussie, but he'll have to wait till his next visit.

He returns to secure a 13-darter. Brilliant stuff.

  • Tricole 1-1 Comito (2-0)

Comito leaves 130, first to a finish.

    Tricole's 95 whittles him down to 108.

Comito misses bullseye for a finish.

Tricole, too eager, blows his opportunity.

Double 10 means Comito breaks back!

  • Tricole 1-0 Comito (2-0)

Ally Pally erupts as Tricole gets his first 180 of the tournament.

It's puts him in the driving seat, and he's swiftly down to a 94 finish.

But Comito roars back, until he blows a 60 plus finish.

Tricole punishes him with a double tops. 16 darter, he breaks Comito.
