Salford field three bids to buy club as it awaits stadium deal cash boost

Interest in the Red Devils has come from both the UK and Australia

SALFORD are weighing up THREE approaches to take over the club.

The Red Devils are believed to have now had a trio of interested parties, based in the UK and Australia, come forward.

And SunSport understands a deal for the club, which has a transformative stadium buyout by the city's council still pending, may be in place before the start of the Super League season in February.

Due diligence is currently being carried out by the interested parties, with that thought to be concluded soon.

Salford received an advance of their central funding to the tune of £500,000 to help them through their latest cash crisis.

As a result, they remain in special measures and Rugby Football League officials, plus former Wakefield chief Michael Carter, have gone in to look at the books.

That has raised fears players may be sold but it is hoped that can be avoided as the stadium deal would unlock several new revenue streams and sponsorship agreements.

Salford officials insisted they could not comment as they are subject to non-disclosure agreements.
