A CRICKETER has died aged 35 after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field.
Imran Patel suffered a fatal heart attack while playing for Lucky Builders and Developers against Young XI in the AS Trophy Open Championship.
He was batting in the match in Pune, India, when he began to feel chest pains.
Patel, the opening batsman, fell to his knees on more than one occasion and spoke to the umpire and the opponent's captain before leaving the pitch feeling unwell.
The talented all-rounder tragically collapsed on his way back to the pavilion amid a forced drinks break after complaining of arm and chest pain.
He was rushed to a nearby private hospital but doctors confirmed upon his arrival that he had suffered a severe cardiac arrest and passed away.
