Teams typically fly back home immediately after a European match.

The incident occurred in Germany as Carlo Ancelotti's side travelled to a Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

Real Madrid flew to Erfurt, rather than Leipzig, due to a strike at Leipzig Airport.

This meant that they had to finish their journey with a 100-mile coach ride.

German newspaper reported at the time that Real Madrid were involved in a collision with a white Toyota.
