Tyson Fury urged to speed up his comeback after returning to gym by two-time rival Dereck Chisora who loves his no-nonsense attitude

Chisora was beaten twice by the traveller in 2011 and 2014 but he’s ready and willing to make it a hat-trick if it gets his old mate back in the ring

TYSON FURY needs to make his boxing return as he’s the only fighter in the sport who doesn’t stand for any crap, according to old rival Dereck Chisora.

On the same day Chisora announced his May rematch with Robert Helenius, Fury was pictured sparring for the first time since his meltdown cost him his world titles in October.

Chisora lost to the traveller in 2011 and 2014 but he’s ready to make it a hat-trick if it gets his pal back in the ring once he settles his row with the British Boxing Board of Control.

Chisora said: "He better come back, I love him. He’s the only guy who doesn’t take crap from people.

“Me and Tyson understand each other. When he won those titles he messaged me and said he wanted to defend them with me.

“We didn’t protect Tyson, the BBBoC, people in London didn’t, we should protect our own.

“I send him messages when I hear he is in London or when I am in Manchester.

“I saw him coming off the rails because he won all those titles, became heavyweight champion of the world and he couldn’t defend it."

Just 10 days after dethroning Wladimir Klitschko in his adopted Germany, the IBF stripped Fury for agreeing to a rematch and snubbing their mandatory challenger.

That slap in the face and a PR disaster when an interview on his amazing achievement trailed off into his warped take on the Old Testament sparked a breakdown.

But north Londonder Chisora insists Fury is not homophobic and should be judged on his actions and not the misguided stuff he says.

Delboy said: “I don’t believe that Tyson is homophobic. People are allowed to say what they want.

Does he come out of his house, see a gay couple and start having a go at them? No, I don’t think he is like that.

"You can say your opinion but you can’t start having a go at people – that’s wrong – and I don’t think Tyson did that.

"My belief is he is not like that, really and truly. Because there are things people say and things they act on.

“My old house was right on Hamstead Heath and I used to go jogging sometimes at three or four in the morning.

";I used to get guys up there offering me lifts and inviting me into their cars.

“I would just explain ‘no thanks, I’m straight, my house is just over there.’

“They were just trying his luck in the same way I did when I got my wife.

Tyson has never been that bad.”

Chisora has pulled plenty of stunts to intimidate opponents and sell fights in his explosive career.

The 33-year-old has kissed, spat and slapped his way into the headlines and had massive fights with Vitali Klitschko, David Haye and, most recently, Dillion Whyte.

Unlike Olympic golden boy Anthony Joshua, he and Fury are not interested in a being role models for other people’s children.

He said: I am not a role model. I have to be one for my daughter and nieces and nephews but that’s it.

“It’s hard work and I do not want to disappoint anyone. I like Mike Tyson’s style but he is not my role model.

“I cannot be a role model for anyone’s kids.”
