Beloved Manchester United steward popular with club legends ‘forced out’ after calling female colleague ‘love’

A VETERAN Manchester United steward has been axed for calling a female colleague “love.”
Vince Miller, 82, who is mates with Sir Alex Ferguson, is said to have been “forced out” after three decades after a hostess complained.
She said Vince put his arm around her at a game and called her “love”.
Other colleagues say they are "gutted" for Vince and feel the club has acted too harshly against a "real old school gentleman".
Vince, whose son Danny is a huge hit as Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle, was a firm favourite with fans and veteran United players who he would interview on match days as a compère in Old Trafford’s corporate suites.
He refused to go into details on why he left the club following the incident last September but told The Sun: “I had 29 great years there and don’t want to go into it. It’s all done and dusted.
“I had a great friendship with Sir Alex Ferguson and I decided to retire with dignity.”
A United match day hostess, who did not wish to be named, said: “We are all gutted for Vince, he’s a real old school gentleman, completely harmless and was always a pleasure to work with.
“He has been working for the club for as long as people can remember and absolutely adores his job.
"He is devastated at losing it and no-one can believe the club has treated such a lovely old guy in this manner.
“Fergie loves him to pieces and will no doubt be astonished to hear about what has happened after what seems to be such an innocuous incident."

Just last year he was honoured at Sir Bobby Charlton’s 60th Anniversary dinner for his longstanding association with the club after remaining a fixture there since the 1980s.
Taking the mic at the prestigious bash, attended by United legends, he said: "Sir Bobby, we go back a long way. Sir Alex Ferguson, it's been my privilege and pleasure to know you for all these years."
Award-winning actor Danny, from Stockport, Gtr Manchester, has often credited his dad for his success as an actor.
Last year he paid a touching tribute to him on his Instagram account as he celebrated his 82nd birthday.
Danny, 26, said: "My dad's birthday today. 82 years young. A legend, a comedian, a best friend and a father. Happy birthday Dad️."
During his 40-year career as an entertainer, Vince has worked with Sir Tom Jones, Johnny Mathis, Jack Jones and The Three Degrees.
But his ties with Manchester United are closest to his heart and he has kept in contact with many ex-players including Denis Law and Nobby Stiles.
Vince even presided over Sir Alex's 25th anniversary celebrations as manager in 2011.
A Man Utd spokeswoman said: “All of our lounges receive feedback from fans that enjoy the facilities on match day.
“As a result of the feedback we received in the Old Boardroom over a period of time, we have changed the offering to supporters in that room and part of that change has meant a change in room host.”
