The Brazilian chief has linked up with Marinakis and is expected to take over an unspecified role that would see him being in charge of Forest, Olympiacos and Rio Ave.

If the ship owner, who saw Olympiacos become the first ever Greek European cup winners, is also successful in his bid for Vasco da Gama then Edu is also expected to be in charge of the Rio de Janeiro club.

The Brazilian outfit was previously controlled by 777 Partners before their financial model collapsed earlier this year.

The group is now under the control of US insurance giant A-Cap and the clubs are being sold.
