THE UK Championship is right around the corner - with some huge names competing in York.

Last year, Ronnie O'Sullivan secured a record-extending eighth title after he beat Ding Junhui 10-7 in a thrilling final.

Rocket will be hoping to make it nine crowns this year as he looks to successfully defend the iconic trophy.

The UK Championship is the first of the World Snooker Tour's prestigious Triple Crown events.

And many of the sport's elite will go to battle for a share of the colossal £1.2million prize money on offer.
