‘Dumb people make dumb predictions’ – Katie Taylor in tense exchange with Jake Paul as she bets her purse on Mike Tyson
KATIE TAYLOR was challenged to "put your money where your mouth is" by Jake Paul after predicting victory for Mike Tyson.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer will face the former heavyweight king at the AT&T Stadium on Friday night, live on Netflix.
It will headline a card that will feature, among other bouts, Katie Taylor's much-anticipated rematch against Amanda Serrano.
A press conference to hype the card took place on Wednesday night, during which all of the fighters on the show were asked to predict Paul vs Tyson.
Each one, aside from Serrano - who is promoted by Paul's Most Valuable Promotions - gave 'Iron Mike' the edge, including the Bray woman, who said: "You can never bet against a legend."
These predictions seemed to irk Jake Paul, who remarked: "When I see dumb people saying dumb predictions, I just feel bad for them."
He went around to all of the boxers in order to place bets on the result, challenging them to "put your money where your mouth is".
When he got to Shu Shu Carrington Jr, who fights Dana Coolwell on the night, the 13-0 featherweight quipped: "How much do you want to lose?"
Paul, in response, said: "The time I spent taking a s*** is how much you make in your whole life!"
Before moving on, Paul turned to Taylor, saying: "Oh wait, I forgot Katie Taylor back here."
After he asked her "how much do you want to bet?" she repeated the question back to him, with Paul replying "as much as you want. I'm not losing, no shot in hell."
The undisputed super lightweight champion then suggested they "bet your purse" with Paul agreeing to the terms before declaring: "I'm sending out contracts, too!"
