Littler cashing in
Luke Littler admits he will have to “dig deep” as he closes in on becoming an oche millionaire.
If Littler, 17, can win three more games and take the £150,000 title on Sunday night he will have racked up over £1m in prize money since the start of the year.
“I’ve just got to dig deep, do my stuff. Obviously all us players like the longer format because we can get into the game.
“But I nearly left it too late against Mike. I pulled myself up and got over the line.
“I’ll just focus on Jermaine, chill out tomorrow Friday. I’ll come back Saturday better, hopefully. I just play my darts.
“Heading into the Worlds I need a good run in this, so far I’m happy. Do Saturday and Sunday, practice for the Worlds but I’d like to win this one.”
Double 20 vision
Gary Anderson thanked SPECSAVERS for keeping his sights on a first-ever Grand Slam title.
The Flying Scotsman is edging closer to winning his favourite tournament, although he faces record-breaking Luke Littler in a mouthwatering semi-final.
And Ando, 53, admitted he needed an emergency visit to the opticians earlier in the tournament after exclusively revealing to SunSport he couldn’t see the treble 20!
On whether he’d gone to Specsavers, he said: “I did and I could see that treble great and it’s made it all the worse.
"I think I played better when I couldn’t see it!
“Down this morning, quick tweak and they are bang on now.
"I went in (to Specsavers) and they were sitting too high. I was looking through the varifocals. Now they have dropped them, twisted them a wee bit and looks alright.
“After what I paid for the glasses I expect a few free sets of glasses!
“I just stuck them on when I got the new ones last Thursday. It just wasn’t right. But I played well, I should have kept them!”

“As a player you do feel it coming and hopefully it does come.”

More from Littler
I feel unbeatable in myself. When you are playing that well, you feel like no one can stop you. Jermaine couldn’t get close.
“When I was 8-2 I said to myself ‘don’t switch off here keep going’. He was at me every leg.
On his second nine-dart near-miss this week, he added: “When you are playing that good you can feel it, it’s coming.
“I know myself I’m unbeatable in legs, I’m going out in 11 or 12 darts.
“It feels good to get past a few rounds, get myself deeper into competitions. Obviously I’m climbing up the world rankings now. That’s another big thing going up to the World Championship.
“If you win by 14 legs it’s even better. If I hit another nine it’ll go down in the record books.
“There’s not too many tournaments to do it. But I know myself it’s nearly there.
“I’d love to go even better than tonight. I’ll just settle myself tonight. Obviously Jermaine is a very quick thrower as myself. But I was just taking that one or two seconds and then throwing.”
Littler stat
Littler's whitewash of Wattimena took 41 minutes in total.
However, that includes ad breaks when they were off stage for 12 minutes.
So, if you do the math, it took Littler just 28 minutes to rattle off the 16 legs he needed.
