Chelsea vs Arsenal LIVE SCORE: Blues and Gunners share a point as Neto equalises after Martinelli opener – updates

PEDRO NETO scored his first Chelsea goal as the Blues drew with Arsenal in a feisty London derby.

The Portuguese drilled in an effort from outside the box after Gabriel Martinelli had slammed the Gunners into the lead from close range.

Earlier, Chelsea defender Malo Gusto had missed a sitter from just a yard out while ex-Blue Kai Havertz had a goal correctly ruled out for offside.

  • Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

    76. Clean through, Nicolas Jackson cooly slots beyond David Raya.

But don't get too excited, the striker was clearly three yards offside when played in on goal.

  • From Andy Dillon at Stamford Bridge

Noni Madueke doesn't appear to like being subbed.

The England winger has stomped straight down the tunnel after being taken off for Mykahilo Mudryk. Maybe he is carrying a knock and needs instant attention

  • Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

    74. Merino nearly makes an instant impact by nudging Saka's teasing cross into the net with his first touch.

Unfortunately for the Spaniard, he actually fails to make contact with the cross and the chance goes begging.

  • Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

    72. Mikel Arteta responds to the Chelsea goal by making a double change.

Goalscoring Gabriel Martinelli and the returning Declan Rice are withdrawn to make room for Leandro Trossard and Mikel Merino.

  • GOAL! - CHELSEA 1-1 Arsenal

    70. A first Premier League goal in Chelsea colours for Pedro Neto!

It's a memorable one too with the Portuguese winger unleashing a low rocket beyond David Raya from 22 yards out.

Neto had done well to find space ahead of the Arsenal defence, from where he was smartly picked out by Enzo Fernandez.

The rest is history, as they say, and this rivalry is once again all-square with 20 minutes remaining.

  • Equaliser!

  • Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal

    67. Romeo Lavia has run into problems and doesn't look able to continue.

Sure enough, the Belgian is replaced by Enzo Fernandez, while the shaven-headed Mykhailo Mudryk is on for Noni Madueke.

  • Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal

    65. Timber lets fly with a low effort from 25 yards that thumps into the advertising hoardings to the left of Sanchez's goal.

It was neat footwork from the Dutchman to make space for shot, and he continues to grow into this Arsenal team after that long period out with injury.

  • Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal

    63. Arsenal are fired up now, and are pouring forward at every opportunity in search of a second.

Saka sends a series of deliveries into the box, but Chelsea just about hold firm - for now.

  • GOAL! - Chelsea 0-1 ARSENAL

    60. Cometh the hour, cometh Gabriel Martinelli!

Arsenal have the ball in the back of the net again, and this one does count - despite desperate claims for offside from the Chelsea defenders.

Martin Odegaard, back in the side and doing what he does best, dinks a pass over the Blues backline from the right, and finds Martinelli all alone.

The angle is against the Brazilian, but he controls well with his left before smashing past Robert Sanchez at the near post with his right, sending the travelling Arsenal fans wild with delight.

  • Breakthrough!

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    57. Havertz has been patched up and is back on, but the focus from the Arsenal fans remain on the referee.

"Michael Oliver, it's all about you!" come the chants from the away section.

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    55. Blood is pouring from Havertz's head, but the German is refusing to leave the field despite being directed to the touchline by Michael Oliver.

Eventually, the German's stubbornness leads to him getting a yellow card, literally adding insult to injury.

As for the cut itself, it seems to be a reopening of the head wound Havertz suffered in midweek against Inter Milan.

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    53. Chelsea are ramping up the pressure.

Fofana goes close after being picked out by Madueke.

Moments later, Lavia opens up space for Gusto, and it requires some desperate Arsenal defending to deny the right-back.

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    51. Martinelli is on the run after being picked out by a crisp Saliba pass.

This time he takes matters into his own hands, cutting inside and making room for a shot.

It's a strike that is expertly blocked by the tenacious Fofana.

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    50. Up the other end, a delightful Martinelli cross evades four Arsenal players in the box, including White, who was the last to arrive at the back stick.

Martinelli looks to the heavens. White looks to the 24-hour tanning salon.

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    48. The home fans are up for it now as their team attack the Matthew Harding Stand.

Madueke makes short work of Timber and Martinelli by skipping inside off the right wing, but then lets himself down by slicing a shot wildly out of play.

  • Kick-off - Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    46. Back at it at the Bridge! There are no changes to report as the second half gets underway.

This is a London derby there to be won. It is waiting for someone to take it by the scruff of the neck and make themselves a hero.

  • From Andy Dillon at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are publicising their 'Wrap Up Warm' campaign on behalf of their foundation supporting homelessness charities in London.

Marc Cucurella really should whip those gloves off and donate.

Ok, he is Spanish but it isn't that cold today, crikey. He's playing well though up against Bakayo Saka.

  • First half facts and figures

Arsenal have now failed to score in the first half of five of their last six games against Chelsea in the Premier League.

  • Half-time - Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

It's goalless at the break in what has been a scrappy affair.

Both sides have had their spells, but the only real event of note was when Kai Havertz had the ball in the net against his former club - only for VAR to cut the celebrations short with news of an offside.

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

45+1. Madueke is booked for delaying the restart just as Timber was looking to release a quick free-kick.

That will stop Arsenal fans moaning on Twitter for a couple of hours.

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    44. Rice is penalised for a challenge on Jackson a few yards outside the box, and it will present Palmer with another dead ball opportunity.

This time the England international lowers his strike, only to thump the free-kick into the four-man Arsenal wall.

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    42. Half-time is fast approaching, and the focus is beginning to shift from the players on the pitch to the managers pacing their technical areas.

What are Enzo Maresca and Mikel Arteta thinking about saying to their players at the break?

  • Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

    40. Cole Palmer has struggled to get into the action over the last 20 minutes, and his frustrations show as he blazes a free-kick off target.

The brilliant Blues forward wears a bemused expression on his face. Not his usual one, mind. A slightly different one.
