Trump played a round of golf with the US Open champion earlier this year

He addressed fans in Florida flanked by UFC president Dana White - who took to the microphone to endorse his billionaire friend.

Two-time US Open champion DeChambeau, 31, was initially not in shot on the stage.

This led to Trump saying: "We have up here today the US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, fantastic.

"Obviously he hits the ball slightly longer than me! Just a little bit.

"Bryson DeChambeau is up here."

Trump then looked around and realised the American golfer was nowhere to be seen.

The president-elect added: "Where is he? What happened to Bryson? Bryson! He’s hitting balls?"

, the two-time major winner said: "It was an honour.

"I mean, anytime you get to play with a president, whether passed or sitting, it’s just an honour, no matter who it is. Very lucky to have a relationship with him, and he’s always been generous to me.

"I am extremely honoured to represent Trump Golf and have the relationship with the Trump Organisation that I have."
