THE World Seniors Darts Masters will take place THIS WEEK in Sunderland.
The event was due to be Phil Taylor's farewell tournament, but the sporting icon was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Taylor suffered a tear to scar tissue after a recent hip operation and is unable to compete during recovery.
The Power is still set to attend the huge tournament, but he will operate a slightly different role as a commentator.
Despite Taylor's absence from competition, fans will still be treated to a star-studded 16-player field with the likes of Richie Howson, John Henderson and Lisa Ashton in action.
A new champion will be crowned in Sunderland, as Leonard Gates will not attempt to defend his World Seniors Masters title.
