The teenage sensation, 17, is understood to have moved his family from their £180,000 two-bed semi to a flashy property on "Millionaires Row" in Warrington.

It comes after a whirlwind 12 months for Littler which has seen his net worth exceed £600,000.

But Priestley, who won the BDO and PDC world championships in 1991 and 1994, has advised Littler to buy rather than rent.

Speaking to , he said: "If he's only renting it's one of the biggest mistakes he's made and his advisors have made.

"Why rent when you should be putting your money into bricks and mortar and it being your own house, not paying £6,000 per month to rent a mansion.

"I'm no accountant but hopefully someone has advised Luke.

"Whether he's been told to rent temporarily to boost his tax return I don't know but I've never seen the benefits of renting when the money Luke is paying each month could be going to a mortgage.

"If he is renting then it doesn't make sense to me."

Littler's rise in darts is not only garnering financial rewards but also celebrity status.
