19 - Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
Dewsbury-Hall takes a rubbish touch midway inside his half and Longstaff moves in to try and beat him to the ball.
But the Chelsea man gets his toe to it and is fouled by the returning Longstaff.
Referee Chris Kavanagh shows him a yellow card too.
15 - Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
Nkunku races onto a pass down the Chelsea right as they look to break.
He's in a foot race with Fabian Schar and just beats the centre back to the ball, with Schar flying in and tripping the forward.
Easy yellow card despite it coming just inside the Toon half. A long time for Schar on a booking.
12 - Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
Willock intercepts as Chelsea try to play out from the back.
Isak slides Joelinton in down the left but his cross aimed for Gordon is blocked behind for their first corner.
Tonali's corner is too deep and harmlessly bounces behind.
9 - Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
Nothing comes of the set piece.
8 - Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
So close to 1-0 Chelsea!
Cucurella with a great overlap and a fantastic cut-back into the box finds Veiga 10 yards out but his shot heading on target is deflected JUST wide by the retreating Tonali.
It spins away for a corner.
2 - CHANCE! Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
Loose header at the back for the hosts and Chelsea pounce.
Nkunku slides Dewsbury-Hall in, inside the area but his effort is tame from just inside the box and straight at Pope. Huge chance!
5 - Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
Lewis Hall whips a great ball into the box from a free kick.
Jorgensen comes charging off his line and doesn't really deal with it but he's likely his teammates are on hand to clear.
3 - OFF THE POST! Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
What a start to this one - it easily could be one each!
Isak finds himself out on the right and he fires a wicked ball in behind the Chelsea back line for Joelinton, all alone at the back post, and he gets his feet in a muddle and seems to knock it goalward with his CALF and knocks it off the post and wide.
That should've been a goal, though.
1 - Newcastle 0-0 Chelsea
Anthony Gordon shuts down the goalkeeper and then onto Badiashile who doesn't see him coming as Gordon slides in to knock ball out.
Early signs that he might just be alright after all as the crowd rise to their feet.
KICK OFF!
Chelsea get this cup tie underway at a jumping St James' Park!
Here they come
A warm welcome greets the two sides.
Enzo and Fabian Schar lead the two sides out, with Enzo Maresca having taken his seat a wee while ago now.
There's an expectancy here.
Some atmosphere
Despite the ups and downs of Newcastle at the minute, it's a cracking atmosphere inside St James'.
The flags are being waved around the ground as 'Hey Jude' is blasted through the tennoy.
The teams are in the tunnel, we're almost set for a start...
Not well
Jadon Sancho's absence tonight has been addressed by Chelsea.
He was expected to be pushing for a start and many supporters expressed their disappointment at him not being named in the squad.
But the official line out the club is he is unwell.
They tweeted: "Jadon Sancho misses tonight’s #CarabaoCup tie in Newcastle due to illness."

From Ian Murtagh at St James' Park
No surprise that Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca makes 11 changes from the side which beat Newcastle 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday but it is mildly surprising that Eddie Howe has shuffled his pack.
Maresca has talisman Cole Palmer on the bench if he's required.
Six players on duty at the weekend survive including goalscorer Alexander Isak, who will be buoyed by the return of Anthony Gordon after missing the match three days ago with a slight groin injury.
Emil Krafth and Lloyd Kelly come into a new-look Toon defence .
Heating up
The Chelsea squad were out nice and early and being put through their paces.
The atmosphere slowly picking up as more and more supporters pile through the turnstiles with a little under half an hour to kick off now.
'Important'
Eddie Howe says his side are 'desperate' to make it through tonight's tie and book another Carabao Cup quarter final.
He said: “Always with these spells of games, you want more to come. There is frustration from Sunday on what could have been. That frustration we need to turn into positive energy. We are at home and want to make it a real occasion if we can.
“It has been an important competition for us since we have been here and that has not changed. We will pick a team to win the game.
“Chelsea are a difficult opponent and they will still be a very strong team. We are desperate to progress.”
Chelsea subs
Bergstrom, Bettinelli, Colwill, Chilwell, Casadei, Chukwuemeka, Madueke, Palmer, Guiu.

Chelsea team news
Well, he's done it again... Enzo Maresca has made ELEVEN changes for tonight's game with Newcastle.
Mudryk and Joao Felix are in from the start, with Ben Chilwell named amongst the subs alongside Palmer and Madueke.
Jadon Sancho NOT in the squad. So a real chance for some to impress...
Chelsea XI: Jorgensen, Disasi, Tosin, Badiashile, Cucurella, Enzo, Veiga, Dewsbury-Hall, Joao Felix, Mudryk, Nkunku
Newcastle team news
Eddie Howe has brought Anthony Gordon back into the Newcastle team for tonight's game.
Club captain Bruno Guimaraes is given a rest, though it's a strong side named outwith that.
Newcastle XI: Pope, Kelly, Krafth, Schar, Hall, Longstaff, Tonali, Willock, Gordon, Isak, Joelinton
Last time they met
You have to go back almost 76 hours to find the last time these two sides faced off.
That Premier League outing finished in a 2-1 Chelsea win, with Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer scoring either side of Alexander Isak's equaliser.
The Blues led every stat available on the day and Newcastle lacked any sort of clinical edge up top.
Six Chelsea yellow cards were handed out on Sunday. Will tonight be as feisty...
Pre-match wander
The Chelsea players were out a short time ago, having a look at the surface ahead of their warm-ups in a short while.
Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix - both eyeing a start - were at the forefront of that.
Changes?
Speaking of team news, Enzo Maresca was quizzed on the changes he could make ahead of this one.
He's previously made as many as 11 changes in cup games previously and was asked if he'd have concerns doing that here given the opposition.
He said: "I'm always worried. I'm always concerned about the other team. This one will be the same.
"We just played two days ago and we know how good they are. Away, they are probably even more because of the environment.
"We can defend better, we can attack better, we can manage the games better. The last 20 minutes against Newcastle, we didn't manage in the right way. This is also a learning process for these kind of things.
"We need to learn how to play different kind of games, teams with high pressing, teams that sit back. This is the reason why I said we are still far from those clubs."
He's here..
Having missed Sunday's defeat in the capital, Anthony Gordon has arrived with his fancy wash bag ahead of this one.
The winger was a huge miss in the Toon front line and having sat that one out, he comes into this one fresh.
Does Eddie Howe throw him straight in? We've not long to wait to find out...
