NEWCASTLE have beaten Chelsea 2-0 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
The Toon took the lead after Alexander Isak pounced on a defensive error from the Blues.
And things went from bad to worse for the Chelsea back four after Axel Disasi put the ball in his own net for 2-0 minutes later.
Newcastle got revenge on Tyneside after the Blues beat the Magpies 2-1 in the Premier League just three days ago.

Pope unconvincing in coming out to meet a cross.
He eventually scampers well out his box and wide to stop the ball going for a corner, nodding it out for a throw.
He then kicks the ball away to stop Chelsea taking a quick one. Another yellow card for the hosts.

Chelsea starting to ramp the pressure up as Newcastle look to soak up the pressure.
Mudryk now involved plenty down the left and his cut back just misses the Blues players in the middle.
51 - Newcastle 2-0 Chelsea
First flashpoint of the second half. Gordon nutmegs Badiashile but the ball just escapes him.
He goes lunging in with a challenge on Cucurella who makes a bit of a meal of it and the Chelsea players scream for a red card.
Joelinton then gets involved in the shoving match but the referee cools the situation quite quickly by taking the yellow card out.

Good defending at one end by Lloyd Kelly and Newcastle break away at pace.
Willock gets down the Newcastle left and stands a cross up for Isak at back post.
It's worked out to the edge of the area where Hall has a go which Jorgensen claims comfortably.

Newcastle go in 2-0 up at half-time and are good value for the lead following Isak’s opener and Disasi’s own goal.
But Chelsea were left to rue their profligacy – the visitors should have been ahead after one minute and looked threatening in the final third throughout.
Defensive mistakes and missed chances proved their undoing.

Willock manages to keep up and Gordon smashes a cross across the face of goal and Willock gets on the end of it but can't keep his effort down.

The former lays a clever pass into Felix's path and he goes low with the strike from 20 yards which Pope gets down well to claim.

Pope punches the corner clear to safety.

For the first time in the game, Mudryk puts the after burners on to burst away down the Chelsea left.
He's clear of Krafth when getting inside the area but the Swedish defender doesn't give up and does superb to nick it away from Mudryk and out for a corner.

Joao Felix has a pop from distance which stings the palms of Nick Pope but it's a comfortable save for the Newcastle keeper.

Newcastle's best chances are coming from Chelsea having the ball.
This time, Jorgensen passes it out from his six-yard box straight to Tonali on the edge of the box but the Italian can't sort his feet out to get a shot away.

Newcastle get a free kick wide on the left but Hall's outswinging delivery is just too high for Joelinton to get a clean header onto.

Two goals in three minutes midway through the first half put Newcaslte firmly in control at St James’ Park.
Chelsea had created several chances before a defensive mix-up let in Alexander Isak for the opening goal on 23 minutes.
The visitors were still licking their wounds when Axel Disasi headed into his own net under pressure from Joe Willock.

Foul on the keeper as the corner comes in and Newcastle are off the hook.

Chelsea should have one back. Felix and Mudryk work a clever one-two on the edge of the box, the latter with a clever flicked pass into Felix's path.
It seems to open up inside the box for Felix but his effort is blocked by Kelly who does really well to get in the way and block it behind for a corner.

Newcastle win it high up the pitch once again as Chelsea are toiling in possession at the back.
It's worked into Willock with time on the edge of the box but he drags his left-footed shot well wide.

Poor defending once again by Chelsea as they switch off and allow Isak to collect a pass from a free kick wide on the left.
He's allowed time to pick his head and put a cross in which deflects off Nkunku.
It lands on Willock's head and he flicks it towards goal before Axel Disasi knocks it beyond his own keeper.

Very nearly two straight away!
They win it high up off Badiashile once more and Joelinto powers by two challenges before a square pass to Tonali 22 yards from goal.
His curled effort drifts just wide of Jorgensen's post.
24 - GOAL!! NEWCASTLE 1-0 Chelsea
It's a poor, poor goal for Chelsea to lose.
Badiashile tries to play out to Veiga 20 yards from his own goal and he's shut down quickly by Joelinton.
Veiga claims a foul but Newcastle play on and the ball is knocked into the box for ALEXANDER ISAK 14 yards out and he coolly slides the ball past Jorgensen and into the bottom corner.
Their first shot on target!

Chance for Joao Felix to make it 1-0.
He capitalises on another Schar error as he tries a nonchalant pass inside his half.
The defender goes to foul Felix but remembers his yellow card and has to let him go. Felix drives to the edge, twisting Krafth inside out but fires well over from 20 yards.
