Follow all the action with our live blog below...

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE football returned for another huge night of action - and Erling Haaland once again stole the show with an incredible goal.

Arne Slot's Liverpool won with Darwin Nunez on the scoresheet - but only after Lois Openda had a late goal disallowed.

Haaland scored an OUTRAGEOUS back heel while in mid-air as Pep Guardiola's Man City ran riot against Sparta Praha.

Elsewhere, Harry Kane's Bayern Munich were thrashed by Barcelona, with Raphinha scoring a hat-trick at the Nou Camp.

  • Matchday three comes to an end

That's all from us at the end of another thrilling night of Champions League football.

We've seen Barca batter Bayern, Haaland stun Sparta, and Liverpool triumph again.

Elsewhere, Celtic held firm in Bergamo, Lille toppled another Madrid giant, and Inter left it late to hurt Young Boys.

Then there was teenager Milambo shining at the Estadio da Luz, Brest and Bayer remaining unbeaten, and Salzburg going down against Dinamo.

And breathe. Follow all that, Europa League. We'll be back here tomorrow to see if it can.

Thanks for joining us, and goodnight.

  • The bottom 12

Before we sign off for the night, here's how the bottom 12 stand in the League Phase, the sides that are contemplating elimination.

Indeed, the bottom six are yet to register a point, and they include both Red Bull clubs (and Red Star).

  • Slot's Reds keep on rolling

Another game, another win for Liverpool. Who said following Jurgen Klopp would be the hardest of tasks?

In the process, Arne Slot has become the first manager to win as many as 11 of his first 12 games in charge across all competitions in English top-flight history.

  • Middle section packed with giants

Positions nine to 24 in the League Phase of the Champions League will ultimately enter the play-offs for the knockout stages - and at the moments those spots are filled with some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

  • Pep hails 'unbelievable' Haaland goal

Just like the rest of us, Pep Guardiola was at a loss to explain Erling Haaland's spectacular strike in the 5-0 win against Sparta Prague.

The Norwegian netted the second after the break, connecting with Savinho's cross with a flying backheel. Bonkers.

I saw it when the ball came in, it's unbelievable. He's a statue, so tall but so flexible. It's very similar to the one against Dortmund a few years ago. Unbelievable. I don't know which was more difficult, both were very difficult. He is literally on the penalty spot with three defenders and two midfielders. He's always surrounded by five or six players. He's so fast too, and maybe that's why teams defend so deep.

  • Villa lead English charge

It's looking good for the Premier League after three games in the Champions League with English sides occupying the first three spots.

Villa lead the way from Liverpool, both on maximum points, while unbeaten Man City sit third with seven points.

Two French clubs in Monaco and Brest follow in fourth and fifth but there are no La Liga clubs in sight when it comes to the top eight and qualifying automatically for the Round of 16.

  • Five-star City set record

On another goal-fuelled night at the Etihad, Manchester City set a new record for games unbeaten in the history of both the European Cup and Champions League.

Pep Guardiola's men are now 26 without defeat in the competition (W18 D8), breaking the record set by rivals Manchester United between 2007 and 2009.

  • Slots of joy for Arne

Liverpool manager Arne Slot admitted he was delighted after his side clocked up another success in the Champions League.

The 1-0 win at RB Leipzig takes the Reds up to second in the League Phase, behind only Aston Villa on goal difference.

First of all, we're really happy for the win. We played a difficult away game against a group one team in Leipzig. We controlled the game in large parts apart from the last few minutes, We needed Virgil [van Dijk] and Ibrahima [Konate] and our goalkeeper [Caoimhín Kelleher]. If we left this place with a draw then it would have felt like we lost something.

  • Raphinha runs riot

After six consecutive defeats against Bayern Munich - the last four without scoring - Barcelona roared back to thumps their fellow European heavyweights.

And in hitting a hat-trick, Raphinha becomes just the fourth player in European Cup/Champions League history to score a hat-trick against Bayern Munich following Roy Makaay in 2002, Sergio Aguero in 2014 and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2017.

  • Full time results

The final whistle has been blown at all our ground, and the results are as follows:

    • Atletico Madrid
    • Barcelona 4-1 Bayern Munich
    • Benfica 1-3 Feyenoord
    • Man City 5-0 Sparta Prague
    • RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool
    • RB Salzburg 0-2 Dinamo Zagreb
    • Young Boys 0-1 Inter
  • 90+3 – GOAL! Benfica 1-3 FEYENOORD

Two goals for Antoni Milambo, and three big, big points for Feyenoord.

With Benfica throwing numbers forward in search of an equaliser they would not have deserved, the Dutch outfit countered to seal the win that they most certainly do.

Nineteen-year-old Milambo demonstrated his finishing prowess once again, planting a shot into the bottom right corner past a static Anatolii Trubin.

  • 89 - GOAL! Atletico Madrid 1-3 LILLE

Jonathan David seals a memorable night for Lille!

The Canadian striker has his second of night via a deflection, and it seals another Madrid scalp for the Bruno Genesio's side.

LOSC move on to six points in the Champions League, having taken care of Real and Atleti!

  • 90+3 - GOAL! Young Boys 0-1 INTER

Inter have won it at the death!

Lautaro Martínez sparks a final opportunity with a smart backheel down the left, allowing Federico Dimarco to cross for Marcus Thuram to bundle in at the near post - three substitutes combining together!

It's so, so cruel on Young Boys. The hosts are heartbroken.

  • 88 – GOAL! MAN CITY 5-0 Sparta Prague

    Five for Manchester City!

And after recording two assists this evening, Matheus Nunes adds himself to the scoresheet.

It's an emphatic finish from the penalty from the former Wolves man, who powers into the top left corner after he had been fouled himself by Angelo Preciado.

  • 84 - GOAL! RB Salzburg 0-2 DINAMO ZAGREB

It's game over in Salzburg - and could it be the end of Pep Lijnders too?

Jurgen Klopp's former assistant is enduring a torrid time since taking the reins in Austria, and another Champions League defeat here will not help matters.

From a Zagreb perspective, it's a brilliant goal. After using the extra man with an attacking overload, Sandro Kulenovic plans a beauty beyond substitute stopper Janis Blaswich.

  • 71 – GOAL! Atletico Madrid 1-2 LILLE

Lille have turned it around at the Metropolitano!

For the second Champions League game in a row, Jonathan David has slammed home a penalty that has the French outfit on the verge of a famous win against Madrid opposition.

In truth, the award of the penalty is questionable with neither the handball or foul that was claimed for looking clear on replay, but Lille do not care one bit.

They have less than 20 minutes to hang on before they can send Atletico packing just like they did to Real.

  • 66 – GOAL! BENFICA 2-1 Feyenoord

Benfica are back in it at the Estadio da Luz.

Kerem Akturkoglu is the man in the right place to half the deficit, but Feyenoord goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther won't want to see this one again.

The German stopper should deal with Jan-Niklas Beste's initial shot but instead pushes into the path Akturkoglu, who promptly scores and sets up an intriguing final quarter.

  • Latest scores - RB Salzburg 0-1 Dinamo Zagreb

Salzburg's evening/Champions League campaign/season is going from bad to worse.

The Austrian side are now down to ten men after goalkeeper Alexander Schlager was injured and sent off in the same incident.

The Salzburg stopper rushes out of his box to deal with a long ball forward, but takes a heavy landing after colliding with his own defender.

Groggy and grounded, he picks himself to save a subsequent shot, only to realise that he was a good five yards outside of his box.

  • 68 – GOAL! MAN CITY 4-0 Sparta Prague

The floodgates haven't just opened, they've been blown off their bloody hinges.

Erling Haaland has his second of the night, and this one is much more routine. Well, routine for the best goalscorer in world football.

The City striker enters the box by dancing past the last defender and drills powerfully into the bottom corner.

  • 61 - GOAL! Atletico Madrid 1-1 LILLE

Edon Zhegrova equalises with a beauty, and Lille are eying up another Spanish scalp in the Champions League!

The Kosovan is sent into space down the right by Thomas Meunier, but the conjures up some magic.

Cutting inside on to his left, the midfielder lets fly with a 25-yard curler that bends its way into the top corner of Jan Oblak's goal.

    Unstoppable.

  • 64 – GOAL! MAN CITY 3-0 Sparta Prague

The floodgates have opened in Manchester.

John Stones is a man that just can't stop scoring, and now the defender has converted like a cultured centre-forward.

Matheus Nunes crosses from the left, and Stones plants a fine header into the top corner of Peter Vindahl's gaol.

  • 56 – GOAL! BARCELONA 4-1 Bayern Munich

A hat-trick for Raphinha! And the Brazilian is showing up Vincent Kompany and his high press here in style!

Bayern had the ball in and around the Barcelona box, but three passes later and Manuel Neuer was picking the ball out of his net. Again.

It's a fabulous finish from Raphinha, who controls on his chest, and pulls a fizzing shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

  • 58 – GOAL! MAN CITY 2-0 Sparta Prague

    58. There's the second - and the goal drought is over for Erling Haaland!

And I'll be honest, I don't even know how to describe what the Norwegian has just done.

Someone has suggested an 'acrobatic backheel' from Haaland, who was all legs as he turned and twisted in the air before diverting past Peter Vindahl.

  • Latest scores - Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

    55. Manchester City continue to dominate at the Etihad but are yet to find the killer second goal.

Nathan Ake thought he had bagged it at the start of the second half, but his effort after bundling in at the second attempt was ruled out for handball.

  • Latest scores - Young Boys 0-0 Inter

    48. In Switzerland, the game remains goalless - but only thanks to the brilliance of David von Ballmoos!

The Young Boys goalkeeper has just stopped a Marko Arnautovic penalty with a superb one-handed save down to his left, and then leapt up to keep out Denzil Dumfries follow up.
