  • More from Anderson

It was a strange game. Two legs in, I thought Michael is going to absolutely destroy me here – he struggled tonight.

“He wasn’t the Michael van Gerwen I played all these years back. That’s not Michael up there.

“I will take that win over Michael. Not bad for a part-timer.

“It’s three games now on the day. That is when it gets hard. Quarter-finals, semis and final back-to-back, that is when the pressure is on. There is wear-and-tear.”

    Gary Anderson
  • Anderson dismisses talk

Gary Anderson is adamant he isn't back to his best yet.

He said: "I wouldn’t say the boil after tonight. It was enough to win. My TV game is a mile away.

“I don’t do many TV games so I don’t know whether it’s nerves or what.”

  • Anderson on beating MVG

It wasn’t really Michael was it? He definitely struggled up there. His scoring wasn’t the usual.

“There was one leg I went 140, 140, 140 and left 81 and I love 81. Michael was back on 300. He never played like he can. I know how he can play.

“I never like the build up because everyone thinks it’s going to be a cracking game. And it usually turns up cowpat which I think it was tonight.

“Michael’s won everything in darts. I remember playing him when he was about 13/14.

“He signed for the PDC and didn’t win a game for about five years and then suddenly he took off. He’s been mustard for a decade. It’s still a privilege to play him.”

  • Gilding 3-10 Pietrecsko

For a place in the quarter-finals, Pikachu needs 74.

He has two darts at double 16...

Double eight goes! The German is through, and it's thoroughly deserved.

  • Gilding 3-9 Pietreczko

Pikachu, in control of the leg, requires 84 - with Gilding out on 100.

    It's Gilding's throw, but you wouldn't know.

However, Pietreczko misses the double 12 first time round.

Giulding can't capitalise, and Pikachu gets over the line - having to settle for a double six.
