ENGLAND will be hoping to do what they haven't been able to since 2009 by winning the T20 Women's World Cup.

The tournament is already well underway and England have won their two group games with Bangladesh and South Africa.

Favourites Australia, who have won the three previous editions of the tournament, beat New Zealand in their opener.

When is it?

  • The T20 Women's Cricket World Cup began on October 3 and will end on October 20.
  • The tournament is being held in United Arab Emirates, though it was originally supposed to take place in Bangladesh before it was moved due to political unrest in the country.

How does the group phase work?

There are two groups with five teams each.

Each team will play fellow teams from their group once.

The top two from each group go through to the semi-finals where the winners of Group A will take on the runners-up from Group B and vice versa.

  • Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
  • Group B: Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, West Indies
