THIS is the bizarre moment a sports team owner gatecrashed a live interview on Sky Sports to deliver a PIE.

Derek Beaumont, the owner of Super League side Leigh Leopards, left Sky's reporter visibly shocked by his intervention.

Brooks was left stunned after being handed the pie as Leigh beat St Helens 18-12

It comes after the Manchester-based Rugby Super League side won a place in the play-offs, edging a bruising encounter against St Helens.

Leigh's 18-12 victory secured the club back-to-back top-six finishes, an astonishing achievement after their poor start to the season.

And Beaumont was ready to take a swipe at the Sky pundits who had incorrectly predicted bad things for Leigh this season.

Before the campaign, Leigh had been tipped by the TV 'experts' to drop out of the play-off picture this year.

But after securing their spot, the owner hilariously took his moment to remind the crew of their mistake by interrupting the broadcaster's interview with Man of the Match Edwin Ipape.

Beaumont, wearing a leopard print jacket, handed touchline reporter Jenna Brooks a pie, decorated with the word 'Humble' on the crust.

He said: "There’s some humble pie for all of you at Sky Sports."

When asked to clarify what he meant, Beaumont explained: “You lot on Sky motivated us from Round One.

"When you picked a team that made the play-offs last year to not make the play-offs this year.

“You picked us to drop out and you picked Leeds to make the play-offs, so there’s your humble pie.”

Shortly afterwards, Brian Carney, Jon Wilkin and Sam Tomkins all found the funny side of the gesture, eating the pie while on air.

Though Wilkin did critique that there wasn't enough filling.

The early predictions made by the three pundits had looked likely to happen for the majority of the season.

Before an incredible run of 10 wins in 12 games saw Leigh surge to secure a run in the finals.

The first round begins with a trip to Salford Red Devils next week.

Defeat for Saints means they slip to sixth place in the table.
