Etihad Stadium, formerly known as the City of Manchester Stadium, opened in 2002 ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

Following the Games it was converted into a football stadium, with its running track removed and City moving in for the 2003-04 season.

Since then the South Stand has been expanded, with a third tier added ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.

The record football attendance at the stadium currently stands at 54,693 - for City's clash with eventual champions Leicester in February 2016.
