Ugarte started the Carabao Cup clash days after making his Red Devils bow from the bench against Southampton.

The 23-year-old showed off his combative side throughout a feisty first half at Old Trafford.

But the former PSG star came off second best in a tangle with the Tykes' Luca Connell.

Some Utd fans claimed Connell "stamped" on the Uruguayan as he went in for a tackle, but he escaped without a booking.

The £50m summer arrival returned to the contest after being treated by medics on the touchline.

Seeing him return to the field, another fan wrote: "I still can't believe Ugarte has shedded blood and is still on pitch. This is real passion for the club man."
