WWE announces major change to Monday Night RAW that fans have demanded for years ahead of Netflix debut

WWE has announced a major scheduling change ahead of moving RAW to Netflix.

The RAW show has been running since 1993 and aired its 1,000 episode in 2012.

The three-hour show has traditionally been aired on Monday nights.

It used to be only two hours long, which mirrored WWE's other main show, SmackDown.

Fans have often criticised the extension to the show. However, it is set to be returned to its original length.

The change will come into effect in October as confirmed by the WWE.

A statement read: "'BREAKING: #WWERaw will be on from 8pm ET to 10pm ET starting on Monday, October 7th and through the rest of 2024, culminating with the finale on Monday, December 30!"

The change comes ahead of the deal that will see RAW move to Netflix's streaming service next year.

The show is currently shown on the USA Network but the deal expires in October.

However, an agreement has been found that will allow the USA Network keep the show until the new year.

Part of the agreement is believed to have contributed to the reduced run time.

Fans have hailed the change as they reacted on social media.

One posted: "Lets gooo. No more three hours!"

A second commented: "Two hours? Now I am interested."

A third wrote: "Two-hour RAWs are back, baby!!! Lets gooooo!!!!"

A fourth said: "Excellent. Three hours is too long for me."

Another added: "Two hour RAW’s are about to cook."

There is yet to be an announcement that has confirmed that the show will return to three hours on Netflix.
