His participation in the Shanghai Masters did not turn out as he hoped but O'Sullivan shared: "It is great to be alive."

O'Sullivan's eight-year winning streak at the tournament was ended by Judd Trump, who beat him 10-3 in the semi-final.

The last time he tasted defeat at the Shanghai Masters was almost a decade ago but The Rocket did not let the disappointment detract from his trip.

Instead, O'Sullivan went into relaxation mode as he toured the sights of Shanghai and enjoyed dining out with a friend.

The pair enjoyed a drive around a circuit in Shanghai before posing for a photo together, with O'Sullivan beaming from ear to ear.

He captioned the photo: "Had a great day yesterday doing some fast laps in my mate Ma Qinghua's touring car in Shanghai. It’s great to be alive."

O'Sullivan, 48, is now in the Gulf competing in the Saudi Arabia Masters.
