Several clubs have utilised the free transfer market to find value, while others have paid under the odds for their new talent.

But who has found the best value when it comes to bargain hunting?

Below we have taken a look at the best starting XI of stars who were signed for the best value, comparing the fee paid to estimated market value figures from Transfermarkt.

Starting off in goal, Liverpool signing Giorgi Mamardashvili works out at £12.6million under value - even though the 23-year-old Georgia international will not play for the Reds until next season.

In defence, Ryan Sessegnon, Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly were all signed for free, but were worth a combined £40.4m.

Meanwhile, Manchester United's Matthijs de Ligt was signed for £16.8m under his market value.

Midfield sees the return of Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City on a free transfer, around £12.6m under his estimated value.

West Ham star Guido Rodriguez is estimated to be worth £16.8m, but also arrived in England for nothing.

Crocked Arsenal new-boy Mikel Merino was landed from Real Sociedad for £32m - well below his below his £42m value.
