Tony Bellew reveals he broke his hand during second round of David Haye fight at O2 Arena
TONY BELLEW has revealed he broke his hand during his thrilling win over David Haye last night.
‘Bomber’ Bellew was the overwhelming underdog going into the fight at the O2 Arena in London, weighing in almost a stone lighter than his opponent, but emerged victorious from a breathtaking bout.
Haye threw everything he could at the man from Liverpool before suffering a debilitating Achilles injury in the sixth round.
The former world heavyweight champ could barely stand straight as he deflected blow after blow from Bellew.
But Haye’s corner threw in the white towel in the 11th round when their man went sprawling out of the ring, with the veteran eventually taken to hospital before being released.
The duo are keen on a rematch and have a new-found respect for each other after clashing numerous times in the build-up to the battle.
But Haye wasn’t the only man to suffer a setback, with Bellew claiming he broke his hand as early as the second round.
