Selt cue 'completely broken' on flight to Riyadh
Matthew Selt turned to super glue after his cue was "completely broken" flying out for the Saudi Arabia Masters.
England's World No 33 went on to win £11,000 for reaching the fourth round despite what he called an "incredible turn of events".
The Chelmsford star, 39, hired a local carpenter to fix his "clearly deformed" cue
Selt told "Because every piece of wood has different characteristics, it’s quite hard to get used to a new one straight away – it’s not ideal
"I’ve been playing with this one for 10 years, I know exactly what it’s going to do and all the characteristics to deal with the dimensions.
"It sounds a little bit geeky, but [using a new cue] would be like starting again."
But Selt added: "The cue played very similar to how it did before it broke, albeit with a crack all the way through it."
