On his YouTube channel, DeChambeau has gained over 1.3 million followers thanks largely to his "Break 50" series.

The ongoing series has seen a number of big-name celebs take part, including Donald Trump, Paige Spiranac, Sergio Garcia and Chris Pratt.

It sees DeChambeau, 30, and his guest attempt to break 50 in 18 holes in a two-person scramble, with Daly the latest to try his hand at the challenge.

However, on his round, Daly revealed he had packed a load of his own brand Good Boy vodka cocktail cans in an inbuilt fridge in his golf buggy.

Later in the video - but still early on in the hour long video - Daly was asked: "How many Good Boys are you deep today."

In response, he said: "Well I started drinking at 9 this morning, [so that] might be the 20th.

"I've slowed down. I've slowed down a little bit, because this is an important day. I'm with my son and we are going to break 50."

Daly was also seen playing barefoot and smoking, before DeChambeau gifted him a box of cigars.

The 58-year-old reacted by saying: "I just want to say, I love you, son. You may not smoke cigars, but handmade Dominican -- bring 'em to your friends."

Fans fell in love with Daly's off-the-cuff persona during the episode, which also saw him wearing a hat that read "HICK" across the front.

Donald Trump quips 'do you think Biden could do that?' as he shows off golf skills with US Open champ Bryson DeChambeau

One fan said: "Bryson trying to be serious and break 50 while the Shoeless Captain America of beer and golf is teeing up a ball off a beer can…. beautiful."

A second said: "Shoeless. Knocking back drinks. Ripping darts. What a legend."

A third added: "I really appreciate that Bryson quickly realized he was in Daly’s world and just leaned into it and enjoyed his time with him rather than focusing too much on breaking 50. Great episode!"

Another said: "Hot rod golf cart, alcohol in the frunk, Hooters bag, barefoot, ZZ Top beard, HICK hat, cigarette, beer belly, singing country songs, and a two-time major champion. John Daly, a true Legend."

A fifth said: "Screw breaking 50, you're breaking the Internet."

A sixth said: "John Daly is the kind of guy people will read about in history books and think, 'There’s no way this guy actually existed. Someone is making this guy up'."

Daly has built up a well-earned reputation as a bad-boy of golf during his impressive career.

He's never hidden his love of drinking or Hooters, and has even promoted the infamous restaurant chain.
