Isak made his first-team debut for AIK in February 2016, appearing as a substitute in the 75th minute of the Swedish Cup away match against Tenhults IF.
He scored a goal in the astonishing 6–0 victory.
The rising star became the youngest scorer for AIK in Allsvenskan history at the age of 16 years and 199 days, after securing a victory for his side against Östersunds FK.
At one point, he was described by teammate Chinedu Obasi as "Sweden's new Zlatan Ibrahimović".
In 2017, he signed for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract, lasting until the summer of 2022.
Reports suggest that the transfer fee was set at €9million (£7.6million), which would be the highest transfer fee ever paid for an Allsvenskan player at that time.
The striker reportedly turned down a move to Real Madrid.
By this point, Isak was already playing for the Swedish national team.
In his second-ever match with Sweden, he became the youngest goalscorer ever in the history of the national team.
The player then signed a five-year deal with Real Sociedad, joining the La Liga club in July 2019.
He was finally signed to Newcastle United in August 2022 on a six-year contract which runs until June 2028.
Newcastle reportedly spent more than a whopping $70million (£63million), which would be a club transfer record.
On April 14, 2024, Isak netted his 16th and 17th goals of the season in Newcastle's 4–0 victory over Tottenham.
This matched Zlatan Ibrahimovic's record for the most goals scored by a Swedish player in a Premier League season.
Isak then surpassed this figure, ending the season with 21 goals, making him the Prem's third top scorer.
What is Alexander Isak’s goal celebration and what does it mean?
Isak, who wears the number 14 for Newcastle, has multiple celebrations for the occasion.
He’s known for his “cold” celebration, where he stands frowning with his hands on hips.
Isak is seen to be cool under pressure, with his ice-cold precision and clinical finishing.
West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski became a meme for standing and watching Isak's goal float into the back of the net he was supposed to protect.
Fabianski had come charging out of his goal to try and clear a long punt.
However, Newcastle's star forward made no mistake, quickly controlling the ball before landing it in the unguarded net.
The pair were pictured with their hands on their hips, with Fabianski looking on in disbelief.
That said, the club record signing believes that the player with the best celebration at Newcastle is Bruno Guimaraes.
Speaking to the Premier League’s official YouTube channel, Isak said of his fellow player: “He had a game last season where he made almost 10 goal celebrations for one goal.”
