The French giants were also keen on Arsenal ace Eddie Nketiah but a deal didn't work out and the club instead got Elye Wahi from Lens.

SunSport understand negotiations between Marseille and Norwich are at an "advanced" stage.

Sources also suggest the Canaries are "anticipating" Rowe's exit to France.

Thus, the winger could link up with former Manchester United player Greenwood in Roberto De Zerbi's frontline at the Velodrome.

However, a deal has yet to be reached between the two sides for the England Under-21 international.

Nevertheless, Norwich are thinking ahead and are looking at potential alternatives to help in their bid to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

The Championship outfit are looking at Joseph, 23, who amassed four goals and six assists in 39 appearances with Grenoble last season.

The winger started this campaign on the right foot as he scored in the Ligue 2 outfit's first match against Stade Lavallois and helped them win 2-1 on Friday.
