The Lewisham-born athlete secured bronze in the mixed relay triathlon and won gold during the men's individual triathlon earlier in the games.

Yee's golden moment was one of Team GB's most memorable of the summer, as he pulled off a miraculous comeback to cross the finish line first in a gruelling triathlon.

Flag bearing partner Bryony Page captured the hearts of the nation when she bounced her way to a gold medal in the women's trampolining gymnastics.

Page, 33, fell to her knees in shock and started crying when her winning score flashed up on the big screens in the arena where Simone Biles had stunned the world of artistic gymnastics the night before.

Yee and Page won just two of a whopping 14 gold medals earned by GB this summer.

While the nation as a whole managed an incredible 65 podium places.

Britain's 14 gold medals came across 11 different sports with Rowing being our most successful event.

First place finishes in the Lightweight Women's Double Sculls, the Women's Quadruple Sculls and the Men's Eight event added three gold medals to the tally.

Equestian was the nation's second most successful sport after Team GB won gold in both the Eventing Team and Jumping Team events.

Elsewhere there were some incredible moments in the athletics for the British athletes.

Some nine events saw the nation bag silver or bronze while Golden Girl Keely Hodgkinson took top prize in the Women's 800m.

The bikes proved fruitful for Team GB too with the Women's Team Sprint earning a gold on the track and Thomas Pidcock's sensational late turnaround in the Men's Cross-country Mountain Biking helping secure a second cycling gold.

The Men's 4x200m Freestyle Relay was Britain's only gold in the pool, while the final two top spots were earned by Tony Roberts in the Climbing and Nathan Hales in the Trap Men's Shooting.
