Newcastle ‘have £50million Marc Guehi transfer bid REJECTED as Eagles name price for England centre-back’
The Eagles are exploring the option for a club legend to return
NEWCASTLE have had their £50million bid for Marc Guehi rejected by Crystal Palace.
The Magpies are in ongoing talks with the South London club who have set a hefty price tag for the centre-back.
Palace have valued their starman at a minimum £65million and felt Newcastle’s improved deal is not enough to tempt them to part with the England star.
Negotiations between Crystal Palace co-owner Steve Parish and Newcastle sporting director Paul Mitchell are ongoing, with hopes of reaching an agreement soon.
Although Newcastle’s recent bid for Guehi was rejected there is optimism that they can meet Palace’s valuation.
Guehi’s contract expires in 2026 and Palace aims to avoid losing him for free.
Meanwhile, Newcastle remains determined to secure his services.
The defender was one of the star men in England’s Euro 2024 campaign.
Against Slovakia, Guehi played a crucial role in England’s last-second equalising goal, but missed the quarter-final match against Switzerland through suspension.
After reclaiming his spot in the starting line-up for England’s 2–1 semi-final win against the Netherlands on July 10, he played in the final against Spain.

Unfortunately, his last-minute header was cleared off the line by Dani Olmo and England suffered a 2–1 defeat.
Palace are also interested in Maxence Lacroix and Trevoh Chalobah if Guehi leaves.
Wolfsburg defender Lacroix is believed to be the preferred option.
Meanwhile, Palace are interested in re-signing club legend Wilfried Zaha – who left Selhurst Park for Galatasaray last summer.
