ADRIAN LEWIS has hinted at making a shock return to darts after taking a break from the sport.
The two-time World champion stepped away from the sport last year after multiple withdrawals from PDC Pro Tour events.
Lewis, 39, has now suggested that he could "have a go" at the World Darts Championship qualifiers.
He revealed that he made the revelation during a fishing trip with sports promoter Barry Hearn.
Speaking on ’s YouTube show, Club 501, he said: "Jason Thame asked me if I wanted to take part in the MODUS Series and I was a bit apprehensive but I told him that we’d give it a go next year.
"I’m going to do plenty of exhibitions and corporates with them and once I’ve done the series next year, I’ll see where I’m at with my game.

"If I’m enjoying it, then I’ll look to keep it going and go to Q School.
"Don’t write me off for any Tour events this year.
"I was fishing with Barry Hearn and I told him that I might have a go at the World Darts Championship qualifiers this year.
"It was never my intention to put the darts away forever in the first place, that’s why I said I was taking a break rather than retiring.

"There was always a possibility that I’d come back."
Lewis also revealed that there was more than one reason behind his exit from darts.
Among the reasons was that he had lost the "hunger" to succeed.
He added: "There were a few reasons behind me choosing to take a break from darts.
"One was that I didn’t have the hunger that I knew I needed if I wanted to succeed.
"There is also a lot going on with my family and there are more important things in this world than darts.
"I’ll still have to juggle those things if I do come back because they’re not going anywhere, but you can learn to deal with them."
