Darts world champion Luke Humphries reveals very normal job he had before pocketing MILLIONS in prize money

Humphries also revealed who chose his first walk-out song for him

DARTS world champion Luke Humphries had a very normal job before pocketing his million-pound fortune.

The World No1 has netted £1.6million over the last two years.

Humphries previously worked as a roofer alongside his father, Mark, and brother, Stuart.

He beat Luke Littler - who took darts to popularity levels not previously known - in the world final at Ally Pally in January.

In contrast to Littler, Humphries is a relatively late bloomer — although, at 28, he has plenty of years ahead of him at the top of the game.

In March 2018, he felted his last roof for the riches darts had to offer.

But just as his career showed signs of taking off, he was hit with crippling anxiety, and subsequently took a break from the sport.

Before returning to darts in 2021, and beating Phil Taylor, in part thanks to an incredible body transformation that saw him lose four stone.

He was quizzed in a TikTok video: "If you weren't a darts player. What would be doing instead?"

To which Cool Hand Luke replied: "Probably the job I did before and that's a roofer."
